⚠️ ANOTHER DOG ABUSING ARSEHOLE 🚨 CONVICTED | Jade Harwood, 37, from #kingsnorton, #birmingham B38 – left an elderly flea-infested dog unattended with no food or water. RSPCA rescuers found 11-year-old husky-type dog called Oleg severely underweight and covered in fleas inside Harwood’s squalid home, which was filled with litter and mould. No food or water was available for him. The animal welfare charity had been called out to the address on multiple occasions regarding Oleg’s poor living conditions. It was also found that he was being left unattended for long periods. Oleg was seized by police under animal welfare legislation and taken to the #RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre and Hospital for treatment. The vet who examined Oleg said: “He had a body condition score of one out nine, meaning he was emaciated with muscle loss and no discernible fat. “A reasonable owner would provide an adequate diet, ensure an adequate supply of water, and present their animal for veterinary assessment if they failed to gain or maintain a healthy weight." While Oleg’s weight increased by 68% to 21.9kg in just three months, he was later put to sleep due to unrelated health issues. Mother-of-two Harwood was found guilty of animal welfare offences in her absence. The court heard in mitigation that she had “personal issues” and “caring responsibilities”. RSPCA Inspector Ben Jones said: “Animals are completely reliant on their owners to ensure their needs, including the need for a suitable diet, are met. “Owning an animal is a privilege and ensuring appropriate care is a key part of the responsibility we have towards them.” Sentencing | 12-week custodial suspended for two years; £350 costs and £154 victim surcharge. 10-year ban.
