Ag bankers/lenders 🛑 Stop telling farmers everything is alright when there are concerns on the balance sheet. Just because there is a pile of equity doesn’t mean you shouldn’t point out working capital is negative or they are losing millions. Put your rubber stamp of approval away and provide a little bit of coaching.

@gwiesefarms 100% agree….as a farmer I don’t want things sugar coated because in the real world of farming nothing is sugar coated or you will lose the farm. It’s amazing how one lender will tell you no and another will say no problem right away. It’s more about business to them….

@gwiesefarms You’re describing a good banker from a bad banker. These are honest and tough conversations to have but are 100% necessary for both sides. A bad lender will tell you everything is Ok and then you’re left wondering why they will not renew you next year.
