We did. That's tactical success in a very narrow sense, which is different from strategic success. (Never mind our jets being downed) It wasn't a strategic failure because Pakistanis say they won, no. The argument was, when you say you sent a message, who was the recipient of the message and what message did exactly land? That completely escaped you. Sindoor was a strategic failure because, we went on to avenge 26 dead, but ended up INCREASING our civilian casualty count by 21 MORE, while we ended up making a highly unpopular Pakistani army domestically more powerful and popular. We established no deterrence for future terrorist acts, as we didn't even with URI and BALAKOT. Pakistan ended up becoming diplomatically more elevated in the world, no country in the world even criticized Pakistan for Phalgam, because we didn't even build a case for it, and today they are mediating world's most important conflict, having ensured multiple ceasefires, while we are left sitting idle navigating what to do.
