Zimbabwean citizens must know that @edmnangagwa does not deserve #CAB3 term extension until we know what happened to abducted citizens who were never found under the @ZANUPF_Official regime.
On the afternoon of 19 June 2000, Patrick Nabanyama was abducted from his home in the Nketa suburb of Bulawayo. A group of self-proclaimed "war veterans" and ZANU-PF loyalists beat him and bundled him into a vehicle in front of his wife and children.
HE WAS NEVER FOUND NO ONE WAS ARRESTED!!
In May 1990, Rashiwe Guzha 22 years if age vanished without a trace from Harare after being taken for interrogation by senior intelligence officials. Investigations and testimonies later revealed that she had been romantically involved with her superior, the late CIO Deputy Director Edson Shirihuru. Shirihuru died in custody in 1993 and the matter was never resolved!!
On the morning of 9 March 2015, Itai Dzamara 35 years of age was dragged out of a barber shop in the Glen View suburb of Harare by five unidentified, plainclothes men. The men accused him of cattle theft, handcuffed him, and forced him into an unmarked white truck with concealed license plates. He has not been seen or heard from since, and no group has officially claimed responsibility.
HE WAS NEVER FOUND!!
Talent Mabika was a Zimbabwean political activist who was brutally assassinated on 15 April 2000 during the volatile run-up to the 2000 parliamentary elections. She served as an activist for the opposition party, the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), and worked alongside MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
Despite a High Court order calling for the arrest of the perpetrators, the Zimbabwean government shielded Joseph Mwale from prosecution. Instead of facing trial, Mwale remained on the state payroll for years and was reportedly promoted within the intelligence structures.
The list is endless!! There is no justice. There is no freedom of speech or expression.
You need a special licence to converge in a democratic country?????
TO DATE, no one was arrested for these forced disappearances, abductions and deaths despite evidence and witnesses!!
Why then should Zimbabweans award a murderous regime with a term extension to cause more turmoil and despair?

@edmnangagwa Zimbabwe is becoming a regional manufacturing hub. Varun Beverages’ rapid expansion from soft drinks to local Cheetos production reflects the success of the country’s industrial growth drive. 🇿🇼🔥 #Vision2030
English

This morning, I had the privilege of officially opening the new Varun Beverages Zimbabwe Cheetos snacks manufacturing plant in Ardbennie, Harare, and laying the foundation stone for their forthcoming Juice and Dairy Blend Facility.
This significant milestone underscores Varun Beverages' deepening investment in Zimbabwe's manufacturing sector, marking a notable shift from importing these popular snacks to local production. Consequently, this facility will enhance domestic maize sourcing, empower Zimbabwean farmers, and generate employment opportunities.
Our assertion that Zimbabwe is open for business is exemplified by such developments. From a single production line in 2018, Varun Beverages has expanded exponentially, supporting over 15,000 jobs nationwide. By aligning corporate excellence with our National Vision 2030, we are effectively substituting imports, driving industrialization, and transforming Zimbabwe into a regional manufacturing and export hub. The nation is built by its people. #ZimbabweIsOpenForBusiness

It is remarkable how some social media mercenaries masquerading as critics have attempted to weaponise my admiration for China’s development against Constitutional Amendment No. 3 (CAB3). The irony is profound because the very logic underpinning China’s rise into a global superpower rests on the same principles CAB3 seeks to preserve: political stability, policy continuity, long-term planning and a disciplined developmental state.
If one genuinely admires China’s transformation, then logic demands an appreciation of the conditions that produced it. One cannot celebrate the outcomes of the Chinese developmental model while simultaneously condemning the structural foundations that made those outcomes possible. Development is not magic. It is the product of continuity, strategic coordination and state discipline sustained across decades.
China did not rise through perpetual political resets, endless electoral turbulence or leadership change for its own sake. It rose through generational planning, infrastructure expansion, industrial policy, technological advancement and institutional continuity. That continuity allowed the Chinese state to think beyond electoral cycles and pursue national transformation with strategic patience and consistency.
This is precisely the developmental logic informing CAB3. Serious national transformation cannot occur within an environment of constant political disruption and short-termism. Dams, highways, rail systems, industrial corridors, energy infrastructure and modern cities are not built through permanent cycles of instability. They require continuity of vision, coherence of policy and stability of governance over time.
Critics avoid engaging this logic because it is easier to dwell on politics of personalities than to confront developmental state theory and historical evidence. Yet modern China itself stands as empirical proof that sustained political and policy continuity can produce extraordinary national transformation.
Equally dishonest is the attempt to equate continuity with tolerance for corruption. China has simultaneously maintained long-term developmental continuity while executing some of the most aggressive anti-corruption campaigns in modern history. Within a serious developmental state, discipline and accountability are not contradictions to continuity - they are essential components of it.
The question, therefore, is no longer whether the world should learn from China. The world already is. The real question is whether Zimbabweans possess the strategic patience, discipline and developmental logic necessary to pursue lasting national transformation. The answer lies within CAB3.

I have spent the past week touring different parts of Beijing as part of a Zimbabwean media delegation. Beyond the city's beauty, astonishing cleanliness, and striking modernity, what has arrested my attention above all else is the scale of construction taking place across this vast metropolis.
Everywhere you look, something is being built. New transport systems. New commercial districts. New residential developments. New infrastructure designed not merely for today, but for decades into the future.
It pushed me to dig deeper - to properly appreciate the full scope of what China has achieved. And what I found sounds almost fictional to the uninitiated:
China used more concrete between 2011 and 2013 than the United States used during the entire 20th century.
Read that again carefully.
An estimated 6.4 gigatons of concrete in just three years - compared to approximately 4.4 gigatons used by the United States across an entire century of constructing highways, skyscrapers, dams, suburbs, and the Interstate Highway System.
At some point, one has to stop viewing China's rise as ordinary economic growth. What is unfolding here is civilisation-scale development in real time.
