Thomas Massie says his loss was part of “God’s will” and that everything happens for a reason and a greater purpose. Massie says the battle was lost, but the war against the Epstein class will continue. “What was God’s purpose? What is He showing us tonight?” “It couldn’t happen if God didn’t want it to.”

Massie’s own framing is blunt: his primary had “turned into a referendum on whether Israel gets to buy seats in Congress. And what they found out is that my seat is really expensive.” Those are his words, not mine — and he said them on the record, repeatedly, to anyone with a microphone. This is what Frank Zappa was pointing at when he called politics the entertainment division of the military-industrial complex. For a moment, I thought we’d broken through. Or perhaps Massie had to give up his seat in order to win something bigger.

ATF is removing the two sentences from its regulatory definitions of "machine gun" that included bump stocks. This directly implements the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2024 decision in Garland v. Cargill, which ruled that semiautomatic rifles with bump stocks are not machine guns under the National Firearms Act. We need to replace involuntary taxes on income and property, with voluntary taxes on cigarettes alcohol marijuana and gambling, and other voluntary taxes like usage fees. Taxes people can choose not to partake in if they can’t afford or don’t use the service. And before anyone screeches about the affects of marijuana on society, marijuana is already being sold in every gas station and smoke shop with zero benefit to our tax burden.

Which would you prefer? Eliminate the state income tax or property taxes? Please pick one (although truth be told I want to do both).

I'm fine with Thomas Massie losing if that's the voters' will. He was one of 2 Rs to say no to the OBBB. That's enough for me. But so much energy is going into just annihilating him it makes me wonder: Why not use similar energy on Thune to get the Save America Act done?

Because I posted critiques of Thomas Massie and then explained the harm he causes the conservative movement. His is an unhealthy cult of personality. Trump is frequently accused of this, but it's a reality for Massie supporters. They lack the ability to engage dispassionately on his dismal track record of supporting Democrats while pretending to be "conservative." Vote wisely, KY-04.
