Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) Statement Sunday, May 17, 2026 Based on the new combat strategy of the Afghanistan Freedom Front, the Front’s spring guerrilla operations against Taliban militias in Badakhshan Province have begun. Over the past two months, several clashes and battles have taken place between the two sides in different parts of the province. During the past month alone, at least four attacks, ambushes, and movements by Taliban militias against the Front’s strongholds in the Khestak Valley of Jurm District, Badakhshan Province, were repelled and neutralized by Afghanistan’s freedom fighters, forcing the enemy to retreat with heavy casualties. The active presence of the Freedom Front’s guerrillas in various parts of Badakhshan has struck fear into the enemy and signals the beginning of Afghanistan’s liberation from the Taliban group’s rule. During this month, Taliban have launched false propaganda campaigns and intensified pressure on the people through movement restrictions, house-to-house searches, and even the arrest and detention of several local Taliban members. The Freedom Front, as a pioneering political-military movement, remains committed to restoring the Afghanistan people’s ownership of their destiny and homeland, establishing a system based on the rule of constitution, democracy, and equal rights for all citizens across the country, and continuing its struggle to achieve the goals outlined in its charter of resistance.
