I always thought the role of media was to hold the powerful accountable and to unapologetically seek the truth. Apparently, the CBC views it as trying to deceive and trick individual citizens (and opposition Members of Parliament) into bizarre and intentional “traps”. It’s something you would expect from a university fraternity, not a taxpayer-funded broadcaster. I want answers. Why is the taxpayer-funded broadcaster contacting Canadians and a Member of Parliament in disguise and trying to trick us into participating in a twisted social experiment, in partnership with American leftists like Igor Vamos? Will taxpayers also need to cover the legal bills for CBC in the inevitable lawsuits they are about to face? I interviewed more than 300 Canadians for my documentaries (and didn't receive any taxpayer money). Not once did I engage in garbage like this.

Prime Minister Carney’s message today was largely expected. The warning signs have been there for months, especially as he increased his international travel. We’ve also reached this point because he has not delivered on his key promise to secure a deal with the United States—a commitment that was both economically important and politically central. In that context, suggesting that the United States is no longer an ally is, quite frankly, hard to believe. What we’re now seeing is a clear weakening of CUSMA as a reliable trade framework. The possibility of a direct deal between the United States and Mexico—leaving Canada on the sidelines—is no longer far-fetched. That would be a major shift for how trade works in North America. For the agri-food sector, the risks are real. About 75% of Canada’s agri-food exports go to the United States. That has worked well for years, but it also means we are highly exposed. Diversifying sounds good in theory, but in practice it takes time, money, and new infrastructure. In the meantime, farmers, processors, and distributors would feel the pressure through tighter margins. In food, geography matters. You can’t move farmland. What we produce has to be shipped, and the farther the customer, the higher the cost. That makes us less competitive. On logistics and supply chains, Canada still trails several G20 countries. PM Carney's use of “forward guidance” is really about preparing Canadians for what’s ahead, and perhaps shifting blame. But make no mistake, Canada’s position is weakening. This isn’t really about opinions—it’s about reality. The real test will be how Canadian households, especially the middle class, handle the pressure. The adjustment is coming. The only question is who will bear the cost.

“Bohunks” and “garlic eaters.” Some of the popular insults used to describe Ukrainian immigrants to Canada like these👇a century ago. Many faced prejudice and discrimination because they weren’t “heritage Canadians.” During the First World War, there were calls for their “remigration.” Thousands were imprisoned in force labour camps, because they were deemed “enemy aliens,” on the absurd pretext that peasant farmers from Galicia might start an uprising in Canada on behalf of the Austro-Hungarian Empire where they were born! Despite all of that, they settled and built much of our northern prairies on the toughest farmland, clearing trees by hand, living in mud huts until they could build a house, erecting magnificent onion domed Churches to reflect their unique Byzantine ritual culture. They and their descendants have been a great blessing to Canada, and are the reason that we have a special connection to that wonderful country.

EDITORIAL: New pipelines will promote national unity If B.C. Premier David Eby wants to keep Canada united, rather than accusing Alberta separatists of treason for meeting with Trump officials, he should support a pipeline from Alberta to the B.C. coast. torontosun.com/opinion/editor…

President Trump must know that after the 9/11 terrorist attacks on America, over 40,000 brave Canadians fought tooth and nail in Afghanistan over 13 years. They did so on the frontlines in the most dangerous districts in the mountains of Tora Bora to the deserts of Kandahar. 158 of them paid the ultimate price. Thousands still suffer the scars. We thank them. We honour them. We remember them. Our American friends should too.

Poll | What is the BIGGEST myth pushed by Canada’s dairy industry? 🔘 “Canadian milk is better than in the U.S.” 🔘 “Canada doesn’t import much dairy” 🔘 “Milk dumping is rare or unavoidable” 🔘 “Trade deals are why dairy farmers lose money” 📊 Vote — then let’s talk evidence.

The Carney government, the one that said they had a plan, the one that said a plan beats no plan, the one that said they would be elbows up, clearly doesn’t have a clue what they are doing. Maybe they should either admit that, or change strategies.

Serious question to the Carney faithfuls... How can anyone possibly argue he's doing a great job since becoming Prime Minister? ➡️ Canada is now facing more U.S. tariffs, not fewer. ➡️ The federal deficit could hit $100B — a record. ➡️ He sent Parliament on vacation in the middle of one of the most significant trade disputes in Canadian history. Please explain.
