They stayed close to our Lord and both served him harmoniously when he was among them. Martha welcomed him as travelers are welcomed. But in her case, the maidservant received her Lord, the creature her Creator, to serve him bodily food while she was to be fed by the Spirit. No one of you should say, "Blessed are they who have deserved to receive Christ into their homes!" Do not grieve or complain that you were born in a time when you can no longer see God in the flesh. The clear message of God. Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Hear, O Israel: The LORD is our God, the LORD alone. [5] You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.

Hell is devoid of brotherhood. Friendship doesn’t exist there.

When I drop to my knees in humility and ask God to save me, I find Jesus next to me washing feet and lifting up the least of these. Lord have mercy.

"Outdo one another in showing honor" (Rom 12). I am on a campaign to see the ministry of encouragement flood the church like never before. "Don't we also rebuke?" Yes. But the NT never calls us to outdo one another in it. Honor is the deluge, the culture, the air we breathe.

I found this bit today between @RealMattFradd and Peter Kreeft profoundly moving (Kreeft’s wife of 60+ years recently died). It’s no wonder marriage is a type of Christ and His Church. If we love His Catholic Church only if Her body is beautiful, we are not truly loving Her.

If we are going to use the " no-one dies for a lie" phrase we should at least get it right. The proper claim is " no- one dies for what they know to be a lie" . This is a massive difference which leads to the question " what made them believe that X was true". ?
