As dementia progresses, communication can become difficult. Dementia slows down people's ability to make sense of what they hear. Some may find it difficult to find words or be unable to understand certain words. Here are tips for communicating with someone who has dementia. 👇

Today I got refused bingo wheels for a person with dementia living in the community. You know the wee zimmer frame with wheels that have space for shopping and a seat… buy it privately there’s no room in the budget. Seriously 🙄

SCD. We can’t do a med prompt only. Why? Because we don’t have the staff. But the person has dementia and the meds keep them alive. Can the family not do more. Sigh 😮‍💨

Today I had a 3rd sector worker turn on me. I put it down to her having a bad day. Our world is now full of angry people who choose to argue rather than work in partnership. As we continue to pick up the pieces it will get worse…was only a matter of time 🥲

I've reached the end of the road with @OvoEnergy, the most terrible service provider I've ever encountered (and I've been served in a casino by a croupier who killed someone). Nothing but legal action will do for them now. Sadly, we still need electricity. So I need advice.. 1/2

My friend who was struggling with her husband has had a carers assessment-he needs care full time. His 62 mobile but can not answer any questions and walks off - why does it take a breakdown to be believed @YoungDemNetwork ?? #Alzheimers

Good news, we have a care package starting tomorrow. They called this morning with totally unsuitable times, I was warned that care wouldn't be in place if I refused, I was willing to risk rather than accept the wrong package with awful times Now they found a better match, yeah!
