Our public services are allowed to rot away, just as they were under conservatives. Make Labour left again.

Apparently, Starmer's too left and not left enough, manipulated by Israel and Muslims, too generous with pensions/welfare and evil killer of the old/everyone on benefits. Truth is, he holds none of the extreme binary positions beloved of idiots. He proceeds leftish, with care.

I’m aware I tweet this all the time but it’s probably because I’m on trains all the time PLEASE, please, please spend some of the HS2 money on connectivity/wifi/starlink/whatever it bloody well takes so that it is possible to access modern work tools while on a train 🙏

@TragedyCalls @KirstieMAllsopp Absolutely agree. I think if people can’t live without internet on a standard train or flight, they should be forced to directly pay off everyone else’s fare if a call/Teams meeting must happen. Work remotely or take a private jet if you’re that important.

Same trace to my gateway ip address.

Should be a given for an ISP to have tested and viable backups ready and waiting. I gave up and switched to mobile broadband.

Eurostar signs off direct London-Switzerland trains. From 2030: St Pancras to Zurich in around 6 hours, no changes required.

@Tobeech Why? Eurostar should focus on fast (<2hr) and cheap (£40 price cap) train journeys to neighbouring countries (Netherlands, Belgium, France, Luxembourg). Passengers can then make connections to other trains if required. Pointless trying to compete with flying beyond that.

Not itemised separately as if it’s some sort of inconvenience for them - it’s a cost of doing business. What’s next, do they want to put another fee on for rent?

@oliverking1991 @1viysy @GarethNotGarth Even if the customer is just paying upfront from a bank account? That seems really off to me. Dealers should just factor cost of business into their profit margins. Like businesses have always done.

@1viysy @GarethNotGarth An admin fee for a customer using external finance is common and fair. The dealer quite often has to do a lot more admin.

@1stKaffa @GarethNotGarth I didn’t think businesses were allowed to make charges for debit card payments any more? Besides, dealing with cash has its own associated costs as well.

@GarethNotGarth Hey Gareth, I have asked that a while back; apparently for card payments there's a fee the bank charges them or the card issuer can't remember, so they put this on the buyer.

@D_S_Burchell @PolitlcsUK A 10:1 wage ratio is still very much supportive of capitalism. Instead of a pay cap, It just means that bosses must ensure a rising tide does actually lift all boats. Like we’ve all been promised it will( for many decades/generations now. Yet the opposite is proven true.
