De Pan. I’ve always thought Morfontaine the best course on the continent but this course is also top 100 and incredibly good. For anyone coming to Europe it’s a ‘must see’ Membership? 50% of a sandbelt club. The best value golf in the world - with Paraparaumu Beach.

@EvinPriest It’s a fantastic idea if you can you find somebody prepared to make a big loss promoting golf events. That ship has sailed. What you could do is broadcast a handful of the big amateur events played on links, but I dare say the expense would be greater than the return.

Perhaps missing the point. Has anyone ever tried 8 links events by the sea? DPWT had the Scottish and Irish Opens into The Open. Bring that back; was the closest attempt. Interesting golf courses always win - stars enhance it. Asia Pacific Amateur at RM a classic example @mikeclaytongolf

@Ironman_peter @EvinPriest Even LIV realised you need a handful of events in the US if you’re going to make any tour work. It’s hard to compete with the size of the population base and available corporate dollars.

It’s obvious there should be 16 top class events around the world plus the 4 majors as the top tier. All other tours are feeders into it. But won’t happen due to Yankee pros

I played the Pro-Am at the 2022 @AusOpenGolf with Kristoffer Reitan. At that point he was outside the Top 600 in the world, only had conditional DPWT success & was hitting it very poorly. To see his meteoric rise the last 18 months has been quite astonishing & super happy for him

16 years ago on this day, I won the worst pants ever seen on a golf course award. As you can see by this footage, it was a very emotional moment for me.

@StephenRoche100 There are a host of websites that doing nothing but talk about the business of sports. FOS, SBJ, Sportico and many more. You should take a look. There is scrutiny on every league in every country. LIV is rightly under the magnifying glass, but so is the EPL, NFL, IPL..

@WarrenSmithFOX Every sports ownership/financial position is interesting in the corporate world. But notice how no one reports on it?🤔 Except LIV, where fans have had financial sustainability shoved down their throats for 5 years, as though it’s normal and they’re not trying to cancel LIV.

The discourse about the use of unnamed sources in the reporting of this story has been intriguing. It’s taken on a ‘shoot the messenger’ vibe, depending upon your standpoint. Should ‘sources’ be used? I’m sure Bob Woodward & Carl Bernstein have some thoughts on that.

@WarrenSmithFOX Sorry, but pretending this is something we should care about is just part of the agenda. Why are you concerned about PIFs return? Have you questioned its return on the LET sponsorship? What about its other investments? No? The stakeholders who need to be focused, are.

@StephenRoche100 Surely this is interesting in the ‘corporate world’? But it’s a question that nobody who criticises the reporting of the story wants to answer. It’s no secret the league is looking for investors, so here’s your opportunity.

@StephenRoche100 We’re not talking about PIF’s return, the discussion is focussed on LIV’s ability to exist beyond 2026. It’s a big story - it will have major ramifications if the money spent by tourists in Adelaide disappears through the league folding.

@StephenRoche100 I don’t imagine it’s crossed the mind of many, if any fans who attend. But there’s no sport to watch without financial sustainability. Even amateur events cost money to run. Doesn’t change the question though, a question the cashed up players should answer - would you invest?

@WarrenSmithFOX Since when did fans care about, let alone show this obsession with, the financial sustainability of the sports they’re watching. I’ve been to LIV Adelaide with my family 3 times. You think we paused to consider whether we’re prepared to invest in the league before we’re go??
