@26331to9 @DioceseWGC Fair question. What I'm wondering is, how should we determine which portions of the epistles are just "what Paul says" and not what God says? Doesn't this open the door to undermining huge important parts of Scripture? Isn't this playing with fire?

Does Fr Russell Martin believe all Scripture to be the inspired Word of God? On 1 Timothy—"That's what Paul says … I haven't seen where it says God does not permit that." Martin is the rumored favorite for bishop of @DioceseWGC among Bp Lowenfield & the rest of the college.

@rickbrennanjr Ask yourself: Do I worship that object (bread, wine)? If yes, then you are not worshipping Christ.

Protestants believe in the Lord’s Supper, where believers truly partake in the real presence of Christ by faith and receive the benefits of his once-for-all sacrifice—his body given and his blood shed for our salvation. Eastern Orthodox Christians also affirm a real participation in Christ, though they explain it differently. But nothing in Scripture requires the doctrine of transubstantiation: the claim that the bread and wine are changed in substance into Christ’s body and blood while the accidents remain. That precise definition emerged in the medieval period and was formally defined at the Fourth Lateran Council in 1215. It is a later scholastic explanation, not the universal teaching of the early church, and it is rejected by Protestants, Eastern Orthodox, and other non-Roman Christian traditions.

For years - generations, even - Romans 9, 10, and 11 were considered off-limits. Too controversial. Too divisive. Bible schools avoided it. Denominations sidestepped it. Has God replaced the Jewish people? It's a question spreading across our universities, our social media feeds, and even our church pews. Replacement theology - the idea that God has revoked His covenant with Israel and transferred it elsewhere - is not a fringe teaching anymore. It's mainstream. And at its root, it is one of the most dangerous doctrines shaping our cultural moment. Come as you are. Bring someone who needs to hear it. And if you can't be with us in person - join us online at Youtube.com/HageeMinistries or Hagee Ministries Facebook.

See, you do this because you know there are no answers to my challenges that you can offer, because the evidence does not fit your assertion. In fact, I highly doubt you speak multiple languages, because you would have known that your original point was without merit. Your position in this post is likewise untenable. Because, let's say for the sake of argument I grant your premise. (I don't, because there are alternatives to your false dilemma). But for the sake of argument, I grant it. What was the Bible before 1611? Which TR should be viewed as authoritative? The one that the KJV translators used? If the TR was perfect, why did they consult the Latin Vulgate and prefer its readings in places? Same thing for the Complutentensian Polyglot? The reason you don't want to answer these questions is because there is no foundation for the KJVO position beyond ipse dixit. This is why you needed to insist on the diversion to the false dilemma. Sorry, I don't play those games. You made an assertion, I challenged it, you refuse to meet the challenge, and instead attempt to wrest control of the narrative through silly games.

Unless you’re Eastern Orthodox. Vatican II affirms they’re going to heaven. But if you’re Protestant, no go. According to the Council of Trent’s sixth session, Canon 9, if you believe you are saved by grace through faith and not by works, as Scripture says, you’re anathema.

Take advice this day. Search your own heart, and see whether the fault is not entirely your own. Very likely you are sitting at ease, content with a little faith, and a little repentance, a little grace and a little sanctification, and unconsciously shrinking back from extremes. You will never be a vary happy Christian at this rate, if you live to the age of Methuselah. Change your plan, if you love life and would see good days, without delay. Come out boldly, and act decidedly. Be thorough, thorough, very through in your Christianity, and set your face fully towards the sun. Lay aside every weight, and the sin that does so easily overtakes you. Strive to get nearer to Christ, to abide in Him, to cleave to Him, and to sit at His feet like Mary, and drink full portions out of the fountain of life. J.C. Ryle

We are not the first people to have options in choosing an English translation. Before the dominance of the KJV, there were many options. Here are the most important ones.
