@GuntherEagleman Apparently he sucked up to Trump by allowing Colbert to stay on air for 7 months and trash and defame Trump and CBS nightly. But sure, censorship or whatever.

Colbert wasn’t canceled by Trump, dumb dumb… He was canceled because he was unfunny, unwatchable, and cost CBS $40 million a year! But sure, Congressman, keep pretending it’s an epic First Amendment crisis instead of basic capitalism doing its job.
Congressman Greg Casar@RepCasar

Colbert got cancelled because CBS’ owner wanted to suck up to Trump. Over and over, billionaires are auctioning off our 1st Amendment. This isn’t about the rights of a TV host. It’s about all our rights to live in a country where the president doesn’t dictate who says what.

The totalitarian dictator king forced Paramount/CBS to fire Colbert, and Paramount/CBS bent-the-knee by complying, but allowed Colbert to remain on air for 7 more months and trash and defame both Trump and Paramount/CBS nightly like a spoiled child. But, yeah, censorship or whatever.

Go back to the original reporting on Stephen Colbert’s cancellation.  The press, at that time, made clear that Colbert’s show was at an end because CBS was saving money getting rid of a late night show that cost too much to produce.  Colbert was not interested in cutting costs.  He got canceled.  That was well documented at the time. Now, the very same media that reported that is paying homage to Colbert and insisting he was canceled for political reasons. The data does not actually support that.  The both on the record and, more importantly, on background sourcing at CBS News does not support that.  But progressives believe every progressive lie, including stolen election lies, that the media helpfully amplifies. CNN recently had a reporter claim Nick Shirley, in Minnesota, was wrong about a child learning center he accused of participating in fraud.  The owner of that learning center has now been indicted for the fraud CNN insists was not happening.  Now, CNN, which reported at the time that Colbert’s cancelling was just a cost saving move without the political implications people insisted were there, is lamenting the cancellation of Colbert for political motives. The willingness of the press and Left, in an echo chamber, to amplify each other’s lies is why more and more Americans believe they may not like Trump, but they cannot trust the Left. It also explains why so few Democrats can tell you what a boy is these days.

@VanityFair Claiming that he was let go by Paramount because of pressure from Trump is comical, considering that they announced it 7 months ago and they let him go on air every night since then and criticize and defame both Paramount and Trump until the very end. Ridiculous.

‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’ is officially a late show, as in no longer with us. Colbert signed off after getting absorbed into a metaphorical (and literal) black hole, and delivering this statement: “Paramount strongly believes in covering both sides of any black hole that is swallowing everything we know and love, and coverage must also include the positive aspects of the insatiable emptiness” vanityfair.com/hollywood/stor…

Fran Lebowitz on the billionaires: “Every time someone suggests [a wealth tax] they say I’m moving. Go! They add nothing to New York. In the 19th century, those robber barons, they employed people. All this money magic employs no one. Goodbye, go. We don’t need you”

@FaceTheNation @margbrennan I wonder if Margaret Brennan is going to ask any Democrats about the party "taking down" Fetterman because he dissents from the approved party narrative? I'm guessing not.

“Is the message here for Republicans that if you dissent from the President, he is going to take you down?” @margbrennan asked Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) after Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy’s defeat in his Republican primary. “Well, it is one of the many reasons, Margaret, why we need to open primaries up in all 50 states,” Fitzpatrick said. “Closed primaries, coupled with gerrymandering, your previous question, are really, really hurting our country. They're causing gridlock on the House floor.”

I'll give it to Zohran Mamdani. Yes, he "balanced" the budget by taking billions of dollars from the state and deferring pensions, but he correctly realized that none of his supporters would know or care, so they'd praise him for taxing billionaires to get a balanced budget.

@C_3C_3 Ketanji was a totally wasted pick by Biden. She's so ridiculous that even the other liberals will not join her opinions, let alone the conservatives. And, the best part is that she will be on the Court for 40 years accomplishing absokutely nothing.

I’m not sure that taking $4 billion from the rest of the state and deferring billions more from the public employee pension funds is some sort of remarkable over performance, but you feel free to think so.

Exactly. She's a disgrace to the history and stature of the Court, but Biden completely wasted a pick on her. She's so ridiculous that she can't even bring the other liberals over to her side, let alone the conservatives, so she will never have any impact whatsoever, other than being a joke. And the beauty is that she'll be a wasted seat foe the left for 40 years.

'She's pissing off everyone,' said Mike Davis, former chief counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee for nominations, now head of the Article III Project, an advocacy group that helped secure confirmation of President Trump's three Court nominees. 'The six Republican-appointed justices are sticking together as much as they are because of her. She is having the opposite effect of what the Democrats intended.' . . . 'The biggest loser in Justice Jackson's tenure is Elena Kagan,' Mike Davis of Article III told me. Why? 'Because she's going to be writing dissents for the rest of her life.' dailymail.com/debate/article…

None of this is true. His "deal" was a front to appear as though he was standing up to Iran, when, in fact, he was secretly working with them. For example, the no surprise inspection anywhere condition. Our inspectors would have to request permission in advance to inspect anywhere. And only if Iran approved. They could deny inspection, move operations elsewhere, and then allow inspectors in. Once doesn't need to be a nuclear scientist to figure that out. What the hell kind of inspection protocol is that, if not to help them?

President Obama on Iran: “We pulled it off without firing a missile. We got 97% of their enriched uranium out. There’s no dispute that it worked and we didn’t have to kill a whole bunch of people or shut down the Strait of Hormuz”

He also claims they "uncovered a $12 billion budget deficit" (as if the city comptroller and the thousands of people who track this stuff didn't know where the budget stood), so he could magically "solve" the problem. However, despite how ridiculous all these statements are on their face, liberals will still celebrate it like he actually did something other than create a bigger problem down the road for future mayors.

@CynicalPublius He also used accounting gimmicks, like pushing back city pension liabilities, and called it "cutting spending." Stretching out the pension liabilities is always the first step in the bankruptcy death spiral.

The projections for Comrade Mamdami's latest Five Year Plan show conclusively how well off the New York City proletariat will be in five years, so long as we can tax the hell out of the Kulaks and the Kulaks don't leave for Miami. (Oh and so long as Comrade Hochul gives us a bunch of money.)

She lost when she went on 60 Minutes and the voters could see her for what she has always been -- vacuous and inane. The campaign was doing everything they could to avoid a real interview with actual news media, but after her Oprah sit-down, they had to give. They did the 60 Minutes interview and The View on back-to-back days. She was slightly ahead in the polling prior to those, and then she lost the lead for good. The public reports on polling NEVER matched the internals that had her losing for almost the entire month of October. All the post-mortem election books have revealed this to be true. As soon as undecided voters got the real Harris without a friendly media filter -- full of word salads and nonsensical commentary -- she was toast. That is a pattern that has repeated itself with her as a candidate going back to 2010. And it will happen again in 2028 if the Dems nominate her.
Sarah Longwell@SarahLongwell25

You can keep saying Kamala lost due to a single day of campaigning with Liz Cheney, but it will never be true. She lost because Dems renominated an unpopular 82 yo while inflation was high and realized what a disaster it was too late and plan B was mid.

Honestly, I am sick and tired of Democrats claiming that because a majority of Virginians voted in favor of that gerrymander monstrosity that the action was therefore right and just. I have a question for Carter Elliott, IV and every other braindead Democrat: If a majority of the voters approved seizing all of your money and possessions just because they want to take your stuff, would that be right and just? People cannot vote to do things that violate the U.S. Constitution or a state constitution. This is not a new concept.
