Freedom of speech means freedom to cause offence. The number of supposed liberals who’ve fallen at this most basic hurdle, because for the first time in their lives they risked losing the approval of their tribe, has been staggering.

Marking. 9 essays thus far. 7 I am certain are works of AI. The department’s policy? Ignore it. Mark as though you’re unaware. We live in terrible times for HE.

@joseph_rohrbach @BMM1882 @WalkerMarcus I suspect it won’t for as long as the current Dean is in post. Her predecessor was forced out to make way for progressivism. I’m told the current Dean has even written her own liturgy. I won’t be returning to the chapel any time soon.

It’s telling that when you want people to recognise the Lord’s Prayer you’ll use the old words “forgive us our trespasses” and not the bowdlerised, unknown, unpoetic modern version the CofE leadership seems intent on using whenever it can.
The Church of England@churchofengland

“The Lord’s Prayer remains a steady guide - perhaps never more so than now." New research suggests that the Lord’s Prayer is still more instantly recognised by the British public than famous lines from Shakespeare, Dickens or Churchill. Read more at cofe.io/LordsPrayerPoll.

As staff members we are strongly discouraged from even mentioning that King’s was ‘founded to reinforce uniformity and the Established Church’. My department has sent out numerous comms about the new Muslim prayer room however. We are lost as an institution.
Mitchell Palmer@M_W_Palmer

@BMM1882 @WalkerMarcus The irony of this happening at KCL, an institution explicitly founded to reinforce uniformity and the Established Church, is too rich not to note.

@BMM1882 @WalkerMarcus I ceased attendance in chapel as a staff member a couple of years ago when I attended a communion service which was lgbt themed. I understand there are now many diversity services. disappointing to hear things have worsened. DM me for my KCL email address if you’d like to talk

We have recently adopted a New New version of the Lord’s Prayer at KCL. Suffice to say, I do not follow the order sheet when saying the Lord’s Prayer. The new(ish) Dean has also banned references to “the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost” (with the exception of Choral Evensong which is a BCP service). We now get “Creator, Redeemer and Life Giver” blessings and dismissals.

@habibi_uk This encampment is openly endorsed my many of my colleagues within King’s which is, in part, why you see no action being taken to dismantle it or deal with those causing the disruption.

A terrifying communique from the King's College Liberation Front. They will take you all on. Staff and students alike. Be afraid! See how long you can last.

King’s College London can post about the recent ruling of the United Kingdom Supreme Court on the Equality Act 2010 (which is being flatly ignored across campuses, with the full consent of the College) but not Easter. How warped our priorities are as an institution.

King’s College London. Founded within the tradition of the Church of England and a place with a supposedly still Christian ethos, in reality an Islamic institution (with a dangerous Islamist element). Nothing against this exhibition — but why is Christianity ignored?

Still nothing from King’s College London’s PR department about Easter ✝️ — a festival celebrated by 2.4 billion Christians and many more culturally. KCL is a university with a Christian foundation and ethos. Yet, plenty of advertising for our new exhibition on the Holy Qu’ran! 🕌

The honest B or C student, submitting essays filled with awkward constructions, malapropisms, earnest, if failed or surface-y arguments--a surprise hero of the present age.

It is Holy Saturday. Tomorrow is Easter. This is how both the Intranet/internal website (image 1) and the public website (image 2) of King’s College London looks today. Zero mention. Contrast this with another recent religious festival — quite the difference.

At King’s College London we have long had bursary & scholarship schemes offered under the patronage of the Principal (our current Principal pompously titles himself as President & Vice-Chancellor — a story for another day). Why are this year’s exclusively for Indian students? 🇮🇳

The mass sale of KCL halls of residence was a fine example of knowing the cost of everything and the value of nothing. Our halls were in enviable locations — now students are placed across the city from campus. The quality of private halls is substandard compared with ours. Etc.

At King’s College London we had many halls of residence of our own — at least 8. The majority have now been sold off leaving just 2 owned by the university itself. The result? Partnerships with private providers which cost both the university and students a fortune.

@KingsCollegeLon @churchofengland It transpires Sikh festivals are allowed, too. It’s only Jews and Christians we ignore. Ironically this message comes from the Dean of King’s College London (who used to be required to be a priest but it would appear from this clip there is no clerical collar).

@KingsCollegeLon @churchofengland Why are Christian and Jewish festivals totally ignored in social media output and internal communications, whilst Muslim festivals are feted? The only plausible explanation is that there are endemic issues of Christophobia and anti-Semitism within the PR team at @KingsCollegeLon.

How are things at King’s College London? Well, the university’s social media (and internal comms) were saturated with content about Ramadan and Eid ☪️. Very well. Yet there has been nothing to mark Passover ✡️ or Palm Sunday ✝️ (or indeed Lent more broadly ✝️). @KingsCollegeLon

@KingsCollegeLon @thestrandgroup @policyatkings @KingsSSPP I see Prof Rachel Mills was present. As a senior leader (a Vice Principal no less) of King’s, did she have anything to say about the hatred being preached on campus? How about the Principal or Council Chairman? We must confront this abhorrent extremism. x.com/habibi_uk/stat…
habibi@habibi_uk

The battle of Khaybar is a touchstone for Islamist extremists. They celebrate the prophet and his army defeating and subjugating Jews. “Khaybar, oh Jews” is a notorious call to lethal hatred. Now the battle is being whitewashed at King’s College London. The Jews – cowards. 1/6
