@RupertLowe10 I’m sure the firearms officers (who routinely train for such circumstances) would’ve been more than desperate to dispatch the animal in question. The problem lies with those further up the ladder who make these decisions on their behalf. This is where we are as a society.

If a violent savage is brutally attacking the public on a stabbing rampage, he should be fully prepared to take a bullet from the police. The officer who takes that shot should be comprehensively protected by the law, and congratulated/rewarded for their bravery.

@ScotsPolFed 99/100 when you spend your time looking for these people and eventually jail them, they’re let out the very next day to continue the cycle again. I’ve heard of courts moaning about the amount of warrants coming from custody on a Monday morning. It’s them that hands them out 🤷🏽‍♂️

@PolisQuality @Westsidecop1 90% of motors in my area are vans, on average now only 1 out of 12 on shift can drive them, only 1 serviceable car at the station too. Going to end in tears with someone getting hurt. Absolutely 0 foresight from the ivory tower as per

Today’s memo is another nail in the coffin of policing in Scotland. Between these utterly ridiculous new rules being implemented almost daily, and the shambles that is the court system, we’re headed for a lawless society.

@PolisQuality Totally agree! Hearing if you’ve completed the response driving course in the last year you can blue light in a van, despite everyone I’ve spoken to completing about 20 mins of driving in one, and not the recommended 3 days.

@Westsidecop1 Force exec have absolutely done us at the knees. No forewarning, no prior training to get everyone certed. I hope the Federation are ready for the raft of near miss forms that should be submitted any time there’s a delay getting a van to assist

@west_response Yeah definitely an interesting one. Would be keen to see if it sets a precedent and will encourage senior ranks to send ARV’s to more calls etc.

@PoliceScotland Huge success, unless of course you worked 9-15 days without rest, we’re scoped last minute for 12 (13/14/15) hour shifts on your days off during the school summer holidays, had partners at their wits end with the job after seeing what it takes from their loved one.

From Ayrshire to Aberdeenshire, officers and staff stood up and delivered. Over 7,000 officers were mobilised for Operation Roll 2; the policing operation for the visit of the President of the United States. Read more here: orlo.uk/w46zJ

Something has got to give with the use of e-bikes in today’s society. Sent to calls to try and trace them, however in the same vein being told of you go anywhere near them and they crash, you’ll be at fault for influencing their driving for being in the area. 🤷‍♀️

@McPlod Again….not knowing full circumstances, were any officers at scene in possession of taser let alone was it deployed. BWV and Taser to all frontline needs implemented asap, no more excuses.

@GraemeDeyMSP Can only assume whoever created this post and whoever okayed it were both sniffing from the same industrial strength bag of glue. PSOS treated with total distain once more by the government. To even try and market this deal as a success is a total kick in the teeth.

@MissGolfAlpha @ScotsPolFed No deterrent whatsoever any more. When you PNC someone with a record from the early 2000’s they almost always got jail time for theft etc back then. You now have people with 70+ pending for shoplifting and continuing to do it every day.

@ScotsCopper It’s become all too common now that people apply specifically to get into such a role ASAP. More and more probationers starting who just want a well paid office job with a good pension, or something interesting for their CV when they leave after 2/3 years.

Found out last week another cop took the role of an office job with just 3 years service. Why are people joining this job to work in an office after only 3 years. I am snapped in half broken at every part of my body and still front line at 18 years service.

From a pal in L division. Endangering officers by kicking their arm whilst driving at speed, spitting blood on them and threatening to kill and maim them is worthy of 200 hours unpaid work, which he won’t do and a 7-7 which he will breach AGAIN. Why do we bother?

@ScotsPolFed So the removal of good will amounts to simply making the organisation move out kit again? All other bullet points are already standard (I assume) everywhere.

I cannot believe the media attention running over an out of control cow has gotten. The video literally shows it charging towards a member of the public. A quick statement stating all options had been exhausted and move on. Pathetic.

@MarkH_Photo It wouldn’t have ended differently if he picked on an ARV though. Because they would be told to drive in the opposite direction to avoid having to use the weapons they train so hard to use. All because PS are terrified of backlash.
