@RupertLowe10 I’m sure the firearms officers (who routinely train for such circumstances) would’ve been more than desperate to dispatch the animal in question. The problem lies with those further up the ladder who make these decisions on their behalf. This is where we are as a society.

@ScotsPolFed 99/100 when you spend your time looking for these people and eventually jail them, they’re let out the very next day to continue the cycle again. I’ve heard of courts moaning about the amount of warrants coming from custody on a Monday morning. It’s them that hands them out 🤷🏽♂️

@Tattieheed7256 @PolisQuality It is absolutely insane! Akin to the nonsense recently about the over 45’s which was very quickly retracted.
English

@PolisQuality @Westsidecop1 90% of motors in my area are vans, on average now only 1 out of 12 on shift can drive them, only 1 serviceable car at the station too. Going to end in tears with someone getting hurt.
Absolutely 0 foresight from the ivory tower as per
English

@PolisQuality Totally agree! Hearing if you’ve completed the response driving course in the last year you can blue light in a van, despite everyone I’ve spoken to completing about 20 mins of driving in one, and not the recommended 3 days.
English

@Westsidecop1 Force exec have absolutely done us at the knees. No forewarning, no prior training to get everyone certed. I hope the Federation are ready for the raft of near miss forms that should be submitted any time there’s a delay getting a van to assist

Shocked to my very core that this helmet has an opinion on this, despite knowing nothing about it. Has to try and get involved in everything.

Another man dies while in police custody. Scotland's shame!
English

@west_response Yeah definitely an interesting one. Would be keen to see if it sets a precedent and will encourage senior ranks to send ARV’s to more calls etc.

@PoliceScotland Huge success, unless of course you worked 9-15 days without rest, we’re scoped last minute for 12 (13/14/15) hour shifts on your days off during the school summer holidays, had partners at their wits end with the job after seeing what it takes from their loved one.

From Ayrshire to Aberdeenshire, officers and staff stood up and delivered.
Over 7,000 officers were mobilised for Operation Roll 2; the policing operation for the visit of the President of the United States.

@McPlod Again….not knowing full circumstances, were any officers at scene in possession of taser let alone was it deployed. BWV and Taser to all frontline needs implemented asap, no more excuses.

Actively chasing Officers around Police Cars, stabs a dog, gets run over and still gets up to chase Officers. Firerarm’s not sent to the call. When will this change!?

@GraemeDeyMSP Can only assume whoever created this post and whoever okayed it were both sniffing from the same industrial strength bag of glue. PSOS treated with total distain once more by the government. To even try and market this deal as a success is a total kick in the teeth.

👮 Police officers in Scotland have been awarded a 4.75% pay rise.

@MissGolfAlpha @ScotsPolFed No deterrent whatsoever any more. When you PNC someone with a record from the early 2000’s they almost always got jail time for theft etc back then. You now have people with 70+ pending for shoplifting and continuing to do it every day.
English

@ScotsPolFed A 70% rise is an absolute disgrace and shameful.
English

More than 300,000 crimes were recorded by September last year. Domestic abuse call-outs rocketed 44 per cent since 2020 to 2,313.Shoplifting has soared 70 per cent to 42,271 since 2023, with rapes up a fifth to 2,746. thescottishsun.co.uk/news/14196433/…

English

@ScotsCopper It’s become all too common now that people apply specifically to get into such a role ASAP. More and more probationers starting who just want a well paid office job with a good pension, or something interesting for their CV when they leave after 2/3 years.
English

@ScotsPolFed So the removal of good will amounts to simply making the organisation move out kit again? All other bullet points are already standard (I assume) everywhere.

@MarkH_Photo It wouldn’t have ended differently if he picked on an ARV though. Because they would be told to drive in the opposite direction to avoid having to use the weapons they train so hard to use. All because PS are terrified of backlash.
English

Its getting like a war zone out there. Lucky he didn't pick on an ARV or it would have had a much different ending...
