Yesterday, I managed Slough Town. Something I’ve done on countless occasions on @FootballManager but yesterday was a little bit different, I managed the actual @sloughtownfc team. What an incredible experience, I can’t thank everyone at Slough Town enough. Video incoming..

Welcome Bob! Another newbie to this years charity match, Bob is a five and seven a side veteran. Probably plays football more than your average teenager. Bob lit up the off the field antics last year and this year he intends on doing it on the pitch. Welcome @kozabobo11

Hoooood! We welcome back Steve Hood, who played brilliantly last year. Steve has moved his focus from content creation to exercise, easily one of our fittest players, smashing out a ten mile run this very morning! It’s time for Hood football content. Welcome @HoodGamingUK!

Non-League Football Manager
🚨 Brace yourself, this is a long one! Why aren't there real players and staff? It's probably the question we're asked most, so we wanted to explain the reasoning behind it. On the surface, adding real players sounds straightforward to those who are adamant on them being included. In reality, it really isn't. Non-League Football Manager contains over 1,700-2000 clubs. That means we'd need to research, create and maintain around 100,000+ players and staff before the game could even launch. And it isn't just a case of "adding names." Every individual would need accurate information, including: Date of birth Height Position(s) Location Previous clubs Attributes Staff roles Contract details We're looking at around 10 million data points. Then there are the obvious challenges that come with that. Where does the information come from? Not every club publicly lists all of this information, especially further down the pyramid. We'd have to contact clubs individually, wait for replies and hope the information is accurate and complete. How long would it take to enter? Even if every club supplied everything we needed immediately, manually inputting and checking tens of thousands of people would take an enormous amount of time. How do we keep it current? Transfers happen constantly in Non-League football. Players sign, leave, retire, go on dual registration, join on loan, or move clubs at very short notice. By the time we'd finished entering one league, another could already be out of date. How would it affect the game? Geography is one of the biggest mechanics in Non-League Football Manager. Where a player lives affects recruitment, travel, ambitions and other systems within the game. That means location data isn't just nice to have, it's fundamental to how the game works. It's also worth remembering that every additional player and staff member increases the size of the database, which has an impact on performance and testing. As above, 10 million extra data points would have been added. When we looked at everything involved, we estimated it would delay the game by a minimum of 18-24 months. For a small independent team of three, that have day jobs and families, that simply isn't realistic. Instead, we've chosen to focus our time on what makes the beauty of Non-League football unique: Geography Club finances Realistic progression League structures Ground grading Community clubs The day-to-day realities Clubs folding Phoenix clubs born It's also worth remembering that real players are only one small part of a football management game. A few seasons into any save, the football world naturally becomes filled with generated players anyway. The stories you remember aren't about whether a striker existed in real life - they're about the promotion you never expected, the academy player who became a club legend, or the last-minute winner that secured survival. We believe the long-term enjoyment comes from the world you're managing in and the stories you create within it, not simply from recognising names on day one. At launch, the game will use autogenerated players and staff, allowing us to deliver the experience we want without adding years to development. We know some people would prefer real players, and we completely understand why. But for a game of this scale, it simply isn't feasible right now. Our aim has always been to build the best Non-League management experience. We'd rather spend our time perfecting the systems that make managing at this level feel authentic than delaying the game by up to two years to add a feature that, for most saves, naturally fades into the background after the first few seasons. As always, thank you for your support.

We’ve got Proudie! Last years undisputed man of the match, Chris Proud returns to keep our goal. After a display comparable to a prime Shaka Hislop, we are over the moon he’s returned. Someone has to replace Pickford when he retires..? My choice is Proudie. Welcome @ProudieYT!
