@KSRonX @KentuckySports Kentucky is a terrible fit for him. You all are wanting him to come in and be the hero and be the #1 guy and that’s not his game

Milan Momcilovic says fit, not money, is most important to him if he returns to college. Kentucky may be best positioned to offer both. "If I were to choose Kentucky, that would be a good fit for me," Momcilovic told @KentuckySports. 👀 on3.com/teams/kentucky…

In-Depth Player Breakdowns: Part 2 Player Comparison included at the end of the breakdown Player: CG Alex Wilkins Transfer from: Furman Height: 6’5 Weight: 175 lbs OFFENSIVE PROFILE: Wilkins is simply a bucket getter. He scores off the dribble in isolation, in pick &roll as the ball handler, in transition, and in the midrange off pump fakes. He uses his lanky 6’5 frame to get to his spots and slither past defenders. His shot selection in the SoCon Tournament and NCAA Tournament was quick, unselfish, and high percentage. He proved that elevated competition isn’t an issue, scoring over 20 points against 2 seed and eventual national runner ups UConn in the tourney. He had 20+ points in 14 games during the regular season His free throw shooting at 82.4% shows solid shot mechanics, which could indicate a boost in his three point percentage as well. His 46% from the field overall shows efficiency for a high usage freshman handling creation duties. The “concern” is the three-point percentage at 32.8%, but his 7 attempts per game is very high volume, and one would assume he won’t be taking that many at Kentucky next year. He will need to be more selective, but I dont think that will be a problem WEAKNESSES AND CONCERNS: The turnover rate is the big negative from Wilkins numbers at Furman. 3.8 per game is a rough number, especially when Zoom Diallo struggles from similar turnover issues. While it can be explained by looking at his high usage and playing a creation heavy role without quality co-creators, he’ll have to improve that rate significantly at the SEC level against better defensive players and schemes His three point shooting at 32.8% is below the threshold Pope's system demands. He'll have better catch & shoot opportunities playing off Diallo than he did as Furman's primary initiator, but that’s still a hypothetical and not a given. Physically, at 175 lbs, SEC level athleticism will be a step up from the SoCon FIT WITH POPE: The upside fit is definitely there. Wilkins playing off Diallo rather than being the primary creator should drop his turnover numbers significantly and create cleaner catch & shoot opportunities that could boost his three point percentage. Pope's motion offense creates a lot of the same actions Furman ran. Wilkins was comfortable attacking from the midrange and corner. His ability to also run pick & roll means Pope has flexibility to use him as a secondary ball handler in lineups without Diallo. The ceiling is a legitimate SEC star if the turnovers drop PLAYER COMPARISON: Bryce McGowens, Nebraska SG OR Ricky Council IV, Arkansas CG Long, natural scorer. McGowens and Council had similar creation ability, similar turnover concerns at times, and the same "effortless bucket-getter" archetype that seems to translate. Wilkins has more length and playmaking ability, McGowens and Council had more athleticism Highlight video via @PDTScouting
