Increasing evidence that STING has functions beyond DNA viruses. A new study reports that STING restricts influenza infection, independently of IFN. This work complements prior studies that STING prevents infection with diverse RNA viruses. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…

New in @JVirology: How does the human norovirus particle assemble? Particle assembly is facilitated by VP2 acting as a molecular bridge. We also share intriguing features making pandemic HuNoV VP2 unique in structure and sequence. journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/jv…

I'm trying to train Claude to read the weekly emails from my kids school and reliably summarize them and print a list of action items. It is losing its damn mind and rapidly spiraling into madness. I feel vindicated

Happy to share our new paper @PLOSBiology on crosstalk between interferons and tissue repair. IFNs are critical for antiviral defense but excessive production is linked to delayed recovery. We found that at high concentrations, IFNs co-opt the downstream portion of the Hippo developmental signaling pathway to curtail epithelial repair and regeneration. Huge congrats to first author @krupa_subs and co-authors @YaleMed @Yale_LabMed @YaleIBIO journals.plos.org/plosbiology/ar…
