As a Data analyst, this will change how you present value to employers, in your portfolio and in interviews. Stop documenting projects. Start framing decisions. I use KISS + STAR so hiring managers see how I think, not just what I built. KISS: Keep it simple, Stupid STAR: Situation, Task, Action, and Results ☑️Using one of my past project as example: Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) Situation: Leadership didn’t trust ROI. Last-click attribution distorted spend decisions and Marketing vs Finance were misaligned. Task: Deliver a trusted, auditable framework to guide quarterly budget allocation. Action: 1.Align the decision: ran stakeholder workshops with Marketing & Finance to agree KPIs and success criteria (whiteboards, Miro, slide briefs). 2.Connect the data: unified GA4, paid media platforms, CRM, and Finance revenue into one dataset SQL, BigQuery. 3.Correct measurement bias: modelled lagged channel effects to move beyond last-click using Python. 4.Validate & earn trust: reconciliation to Finance totals, QA checks, documented assumptions using SQL + Python, and data dictionary. 5.Influence leadership: translated outputs into budget scenarios and trade-offs, not equations using Power BI + clear narratives. Result: +12% revenue uplift (~£1.9m) and the model adopted as the official planning framework. Hiring managers don’t care that you “used tools.” They care that you know when, why, and how to use tools to move decisions. This is what hiring managers look for: Clear Task, structured thinking, and measurable impact, not step-by-step tools. KISS gets them to read. STAR proves you can deliver decisions.

most probably analytics hiring managers will skip your portfolios if you don't know how to kiss when the hiring team visits your portfolio they don't have that much free time to look at your projects letter by letter so simply kiss to force them to invest more time on your portfolio this really helped me a lot well, you are a human your portfolio viewers will be humans too, right? human brains avoid too much information in one place so why make it difficult for your project viewers avoid writing too much information in the description/presentation of your portfolio projects i see people writing the entire step-by-step process of the projects no one cares how you created the projects all that matters is what problem your analysis is solving what insights you generated from the analysis and what recommendations you give to solve the problem what was your problem solving approach so for your next projects, simply kiss kiss = keep it simple, stupid! if they are visiting a project, the information should be visible easily you should cover the project related information something like this for example: aim / business problem, insights, recommendations & tools / skills used you will get the chance to speak about them in detail in your interviews so, next time, not only in professional life but in your personal life too simply kiss keep it simple, stupid!

The lady that interviewed me this evening couldn’t answer the 3 core questions I asked her. She said “that is three questions from you I’ve blanked on” In my mind I was very happy. The heat will go round.

Update on this because I used it and you guys here to hold myself accountable: Out of the 7 interviews I did last week, 1 gave me an offer, 3 has progressed to the next stage and I am yet to hear back from 3. I think there has been an improvement in my interviewing skills. Let’s see what’s going to happen this week. Daily I will get better, be more lethal and precise. No room for errors or mistake.

I badly need to improve my interview skills. Normally I think I know how to but UK here is different from what I knew in Nigeria and I need to learn their style and technique. I need to be better. Lethal and clinical.

I read 100+ web3 X articles in one week. 95% were trash. But I clicked every single one. Here's why: the headlines were perfect. And here's the formula they used to trap me (and how you can use it too). Most people think the content is what matters. Wrong. The headline is what sells. The content just has to be "good enough" not to get you unfollowed. But the headline is what gets the click. The like. The share. And the follower. And in web3, where everyone's chasing the same alpha, a weak headline means you're invisible. Here's what every killer headline I clicked had in common: The 4 U's Formula: 🔹 USEFUL: answers "what's in it for me?" 🔹 URGENT: creates FOMO or time pressure. 🔹 UNIQUE: promises something different than the other 50 posts. 🔹 ULTRA-SPECIFIC: uses exact numbers, not vague promises. Let me show you the difference: ❌ Weak: "How to make money in crypto" ✅ Strong: "I turned $300 into $45K in 90 days using 3 forgotten DeFi protocols" ❌ Weak: "Best airdrops for 2026" ✅ Strong: "7 airdrops closing eligibility in 14 days (potential $8K+ per wallet)" ❌ Weak: "Why you should learn about Web3" ✅ Strong: "The $127B industry you're ignoring while it mints millionaires daily" See the pattern? The weak headlines are VAGUE. They could be written by anyone, about anything. The strong ones are SPECIFIC. Numbers. Timelines. Outcomes. They're USEFUL (clear benefit). They're URGENT (closing soon, happening now). They're UNIQUE (forgotten protocols, specific number). They're ULTRA-SPECIFIC ($45K, 90 days, 3 protocols). This is how those "repetitive, boring" articles still get thousands of views. The headline does 80% of the work. Here's the real game: Catchy headline → gets you likes More likes → gets you visibility Visibility → gets you followers Followers → gets you testimonials Testimonials → gets you $$ Every step starts with that headline. Your content could be fire, but if your headline is "5 tips for success" nobody's stopping to read. Meanwhile, "The 5-minute morning routine that 3X'd my productivity (and costs $0)" gets clicked. Same information. Different packaging. So next time you write a post or article, stop worrying about the content first. Ask yourself: "Would I click this headline if I saw it while scrolling fast?" If the answer is no, rewrite it. Add a number. Add urgency. Add a specific outcome. Make it impossible to ignore. Because in web3 (and honestly, everywhere on X), the headline is the product. Everything else is just fulfillment. Master the 4 U's, and you'll never struggle for attention again. Gm besties!
