It is confirmed. Mixtape is a nepo-backed astroturfed game. It is developed by a small Australian studio, Beethoven and Dinosaur, and funded by Annapurna Interactive, headed by Megan Ellison. Yes, THAT Ellison family, where her father Larry Ellison, who is one of the most connected to Israel's elites, donated over $16 million in 2017 alone. Larry's son, David Ellison's Skydance/Paramount, secured nearly $24 billion in equity investments from the Saudi public investment fund, plus others from Qatar and Abu Dhabi. Meanwhile Larry himself is personally funding portions of the equity commitments in the media deals. That means Annapurna Interactive, with family ties to the Ellison wealth, has incredibly deep pockets that most indies could only dream of. This is why they were able to secure expensive music licences, massive marketing, and a multiplatform launch. No evidence that Israel or Middle East money touched the game, but the money is in the family and family talk. Critics are eating it up like slop with near-universal 9-10 of 10 ratings, while the players are skipping it, calling it an overrated walking sim. Annapurna Interactive markets itself as a "prestige" publisher, which aligns with the "high class" artsy vibe that critics love, but the audience doesn't care for. Their only massive commercial success was Stray, the cat game... Meanwhile, pretty much every other game published by Annapurna was a flop or niche... and this one is proving the same as well, with barely 2000 people playing the game on steam.

I should not have been surprised that Mixtape - the game slated to win many "awards" and is given a perfect 10/10 from IGN... Was a nepo baby's pet project. Specifically Megan Ellison's pet project. Daughter of "everyone will be on their best behaviour because we will be watching everyone" Co-Founder of Oracle, Larry Ellison. This actually explains a lot if it does turn out the whole thing is astroturfed...which imo its not impossible. Many had raised eyebrows on why Game journos call it "perfect" and even BAFTA glazed it so vigorously. Again as the saying goes, everything has an explanation, a cause and effect. I am willing to guess multiple "critics" got paid a pretty attractive sum for that perfect score. Who needs organic appeal and popularity with the masses when you can just pay for manufactured popularity?

My YouTube account has risen from the dead. No reason offered. No email received. I guess I wasn't in violation after all? Apparently, all it took was... a kind Congressional staffer to contact YouTube and argue my case. While I appreciate all they did to restore my channel, it really should not require this. I'd advise everyone who got their YouTube accounts terminated or demonetized to contact their member of Congress. Maybe that's the language YouTube understands. #RepairYouTube #YouTubeHasAProblem

Update on my dad: I said goodbye yesterday. I was able to get my wife and kids to visit him for a few days over the weekend and then I stayed with him and my brothers. My oldest brother and I left yesterday with our youngest stay8ing behind for a few days. As we thought, he was holding on while we were there and as of today he's faded quite a bit and can't really communicate already. I don't know how long he has left, but I'm thankful we were able to talk to each other for a few days.

My case was escalated to the internal team for a second time. After two weeks of silence, I got another rejection — where in the SAME email YouTube said my channel was 'reviewed as a whole'... and then one line later admitted that 'reviewers can't check every video.' So which is it? But wait — it gets better. I was demonetized for 'inauthentic content.' But in their latest email they suddenly switched it to 'reused content.' Those are two completely different violations. YouTube can't even keep their story straight. On top of that, despite filing a formal complaint under the EU Digital Services Act, they still refuse to tell me which specific videos violate their policies. I have no idea what to even fix. 🚨🚨🚨Dear YuTube, if your reviewers "supossedly checked" the part of my channel that supposedly BREAK YOUR RULES... why can't you just tell me which part that is?
