Our @PHLschools face a $300 million structural deficit. Without help, 340 school jobs — teachers, counselors, climate staff that help keep schools safe - will be eliminated. As Mayor, I cannot stand by and let that happen. That is why I’m proposing a $1 per ride rideshare tax to generate $48 million a year for our schools and students. Coupled with a small Use & Occupancy levy on cell towers, my plan would raise $50.4 million a year for schools. Don’t believe the ads. The rideshare companies can choose to pay this tax and not pass it on to riders. Our kids are worth it!

A multi-millionaire musician in the U.S. saying “no one is illegal on stolen land” is peak irony. Her wealth only exists because U.S. law protects contracts, copyrights, property, and borders. They live behind gates, pay for security, and cash checks from the same system they call illegitimate. That’s not principle. It’s virtue signaling.
