True Story: Standing in front of the mirror shirtless, I sighed and said to myself: "You look like a big, fat tick." (With a "t" just to be clear). But I also realized, I didn’t get here overnight. My weight had been creeping up since my stroke in 2017. I had tried several diets before (unbelievably including Vegetarian for a month or two) but nothing ever seemed to stick as good as syrup does to pancakes. But that day in August 2023, something began to change. I had one goal: To lose weight. I was near certain I was likely beginning another failed weight loss attempt. But I was never so wrong. I became my own mind and body guinea pig experiment. My consumption of personal development books was voracious. Early morning trips to the gym began to form into habits. Habits began to breed other habits. Things were somewhat improving until I re-learned an interesting fact: It is near impossible to out-exercise a bad diet. Exercising regularly was no longer a problem, but I was also not losing any weight. And then: January 2024 - I hit my highest weight ever (even while exercising nearly daily.) I felt terrible about myself. I thought: How did I let myself get to this point? I knew all the drips of sweat in the world were not going to help me turn things around. Enter - Intermittent Fasting. Things began to slowly click. My one goal in mind (to lose weight) began to happen in front of my eyes. I was now a little lighter fat tick (not a big fat tick, lol). But then, like clockwork, motivation and willpower began to fade as the scale began to pushback on me. As if planned at the right moment: Enter some faith-based mindset and habit change books. God knew it was time to bring to light the secret ingredient. All the prior personal development books, audios, and verses all came together to spark the desired change. It was like atomic particles colliding to cause a reaction in my brain. My previous diets, all along, had focused on the wrong thing. And instead of failing once again due to my limited capacity of internal willpower, I began to lean on God's power instead. Fast forward to today. Over the past year, I've lost over 30 pounds. Even more exciting than the physical transformation, has been the mental and spiritual transformation. I not only achieved my primary goal of losing weight, but what I gained (pun intended) on the inside was worth so much more. Am I the only one who has struggled with this? If you are a Christian over the age of 40 who feels stuck, tired, or frustrated with your weight, know you’re not alone. I've been there (and am there) in the Arena every day. What seems like a physical battle (wanting to lose weight) is actually a mental and spiritual battle being waged in our minds. I have great news though! You can win on all three battle fronts at the same time. It is a battle worth fighting. You can lose weight. You can develop mental confidence that is unshakeable. And you can spiritually grow in places that were previously hidden to you. I’m thinking about putting something together to help. It would be for Christians do not want to fail at another diet. (It would especially be for you if you hate counting calories or hate giving up your favorite foods and snacks.) It would be for you if you are willing to lean in and be willing to learn to become a better you. If you are content living life riding off into the sunset, believing things are as good as they are going to get, then this would not be for you. Also, if you are content with mediocrity (a lack of desire for self-improvement), then again, this would not be for you. If this sounds interesting, comment “Interested” below or send me a message. No pressure— a conversation. Or if you know somebody who needs to read these words right now, please forward to them. If nothing else, I hope this reminds you today: Your Yesterday and Today, do not Define your Tomorrow. Only if You want it to. You are, what you believe you are. And you can be, what you believe you can be. Proverbs 23:7 - For as a man thinketh in his heart, so he is. Make it a great day.

I'm reminded this morning of the verses below after receiving a health update on a fellow brother fighting to awaken after many weeks of unconsciousness. Living in Jesus every single moment, of every single day, is the only way to get through this life. Everything is fine one moment, and then the next, it may feel like the world is coming down on you. It's not a matter of IF it will happen, but WHEN. And it's not going to happen once, but many times. There is only one way to experience this peace. This peace does not strip way the hurt, pain, suffering and sorrow. It refocuses our hope, and we if we listen and watch closely enough, you will experience blessings beyond all imagination. If you are not a believer and you are reading this, and if you would like to experience a peace that transcends all understanding, message me. If you are a believer, but don't feel that confident in your ability to handle the battles raging around you...Internalize these 2 verses. Make it a Great Day!

If one of my kids told me they wanted to leave school to protest, I'd tell them be prepared to be punished heavily when they got home if they did. And I'd have the expectation the school would punish them for leaving without permission. But that's just me, I guess.
mitchel rivers1@riverratsmitch1

@colin_dunlap with all due respect, i really enjoy following. Freedom of expression does not stop at the schoolhouse doors. Their ability to protest is a protected right whether we agree or disagree but commenting on their math scores to justify why they shouldn’t is not right. They are kids

The gal holding the sign...says "protesting ICE is not a crime". She's right. HOWEVER, stopping traffic, jaywalking across a 4 lane highway, and trespassing onto private property of @dunkindonuts , and infringing upon citizens Constitutional rights to get to work (the guy in the blue car who was obviously unhappy with what was happening during his commute)...that IS a crime. And they should be held accountable. And each kid should probably, at a minimum, receive a citation, and probably, receive a school suspension... AND the school district should be held accountable. Should have had School Resource Police Officers there to make sure this wasn't going to happen. Imagine the potential liability should a kid have been hit by a car. And killed. Who would be held accountable? Would it have been the school? The photographer with the huge tripod at the crosswalk? Or @dunkindonuts . The possibilities are endless as to how this legal quagmire could have ended.

🚨#BREAKING I have obtained horrifying footage from the AC Reynolds High School "ICE OUT!" protest here in Asheville NC. It appears that not a single adult was with the children when they BOLTED out of classes and into the middle of a 4-lane highway. This is beyond dangerous and absolutely terrifying to watch as a parent. Many of the signs are professionally made, they were screaming curse words at drivers, waiving foreign flags, even the signs had curse words on them. This absolutely must be investigated. Who is funding this? Who allowed 200 children to leave school in the middle of the day and run INTO A HIGHWAY to scream at motorists? This is CLEARLY well funded and CLEARLY supported by the staff from TOP TO BOTTOM in Asheville NC... This is horrifying footage.

Attention Parents, Teachers, and Leaders: Words. We have the opportunity to fill the next generation with wisdom, love, and hope. However, it all starts with us. We must be careful what we are allowing into our minds. What we hear, see, ingest, and touch can have a huge impact on our daily thoughts. And, if you can better control your minds inputs, you can better control its outputs. Then: take the time to infuse those words of wisdom into the minds of young ones who desperately need Truth spoken into their hearts. Their minds need to be made ready to stand guard against the evil schemes. It's the only chance they have to win the battles they'll be facing.

We have a lot of work to do to win souls. This video breaks my heart. And Christians… “Do not be discouraged. Do not be afraid.” And do not be afraid to engage in meaningful conversation, but do not let their rage and contempt and hatred throw you off your mission…to share the Good News.

@mgswift7 @TribLIVE Interesting thing is: @mgswift7 , the majority of the country voted to have people who came across our borders illegally, to be removed from our country. so they can start back at the border, You know…the legal way that immigrants have used for hundreds of years.

Speaking as a Christian man with a wife of nearly 30 years and 4 kids: I understand what you're trying to say. I think it's ok to have friends of the opposite sex. BUT, I'm not texting them individually regularly on a personal level. Ever. Maybe a happy birthday if they are close friends or relatives, but that's it! Married Christian men should never be putting themselves into a situation where they are meeting up with women who are not their wives for "work lunches", or meetings, strategy sessions, confiding and helping them work through stuff, etc. Never. Ty... for guys to say on this thread you're just insecure, etc. Nope. You just have some of Solomon's wisdom living inside of your brain: You know an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Success Starts Sunday. Make it a good one tomorrow with your family.

Very important to note: The people that argue the most against this ARE NOT MARRIED. I don't even fault them to be honest. 15 years ago FRIENDS were the most important thing in my life. I couldn't have fathomed not planning my life around FRIENDS. Once you get married, have kids, run a business etc. --- you FIGHT HARD to create TIME for weekly date nights with YOUR WIFE. Between kids, work, life, you must work hard to carve out 1-1 time to be MAN & WIFE & continue dating your spouse. (Otherwise the marriage & family suffer). Now imagine instead of weekly date night your husband goes to hang out with Julie & go bowling instead..... your wife just grabs dinner & movie with her friend Dale instead........ It's just NOT A THING when you're married. It's definitely a respect issue, but mostly these "important" friendships with the opposite sex just fizzle out naturally when you're married. AS THEY ALWAYS SHOULD. If you are a married man giving another woman besides your: -Wife -Mother -Daughter Your most valuable currencies, TIME & ENERGY, you are robbing your family at best & a scum bag with ulterior motives at worst. Same goes for women obviously. It's also, 100% disrespectful & often leads to terrible outcomes. A good rule of thumb: •Don't listen to unmarried people on marriage advice. •Don't listen to obese people on how to be healthy.

I don't think it's EVER APPROPRIATE to have opposite sex heterosexual friends once you're married. •You have couple friends. •Guys have guy friends. •Girls have girl friends. Guys should NEVER have girl friends they text, talk to, or hang with without their wives & vice versa. It's inviting trouble & to be honest it's JUST WEIRD. I barely have any free time to hang with the guys that are my friends playing pickelball, shooting guns, etc. I can't even fathom what/why I would have a female friend outside my wife for. *One exception only. My 10 year old daughter is my best buddy! ❤️

I oftentimes need to remind myself: Miss once. Never twice. Pertains to: Workouts Fasting Scripture readings Reading Writing Prayer Sets and Reps Encouraging words Apologies Church Anything you want to improve in your life. If you miss once, give yourself some grace. But don’t miss twice. Otherwise, it’s on its way to becoming a habit…but in the wrong direction.

Men: Is Your church service for cancelled tomorrow due to weather? This is where YOU get to lead your family. Have them watch something online, or a past sermon, or watch somebody new. It's up to you... Dealer's choice! Though it doesn't matter, though I'd recommend keeping the time the same, just to be consistent. What DOES matter: Is that you lead your family from the front and make sure they (and You) are properly equipping yourselves, and your family, to prepare for battle this upcoming week. It's going to be a struggle. There will be casualties. And Satan isn't taking a day off. And neither should you. - Sharpen Your sword. - Inspect Your shields. - Tighten up your belt of Truth. and Remember...Success Starts Sunday. PS. For those of you who wonder...why is church that important for a Christian? I was talking with a guy a few months ago. He told me... "Yeah, I believe in God, but I just don't have time to go to church on Sunday's". You know... a pretty typical luke-warm response. Here is what you need to understand, THE Church...with a capital C. It's not the physical building. It's the body of Believers. Each one depends upon the other. Think of it this way...If you were to chop your arm off...what would happen to you? Well, You would probably lose all your blood. It would flow out of your body, onto the ground and you'd be dead. Gonzo. Each one of us, who are believers, are part of that body. And when you disconnect yourself (i.e. don't go to church) from the body, then you risk that part of the body dying. It's like if you chop off a toe and lose your toe, but the rest of the body keeps living. You have to stay connected to the body, because EACH part is dependent upon the others. Suppose You want to drive a car. You can't drive the car if both of your eye balls don't show up in your body one day, or both of your feet decide to not show up. The body, and each of it's parts all depend upon one another. You can only drive if you have your eyes and feet. Soooo. Your church isn't physically meeting tomorrow? No problem. Be THE Church...with a capital C. And lead your family well. Make it a Great Day. Brandon

AI's reading capability is insane. My wife reads extremely fast. Like, I give her something to read...she flies through it...and BAM! She's Done reading. And I'm like..."How did you do that?" I read stuff... and sometimes have to backup and re-read it. It's kind of crazy how fast AI can consume content, summarize it, and give you what the piece of content was about in like 5 seconds. Are you one of those people, who if somebody tells you WHAT to do... you go. You DO it. Learn from it. And advance? Because if you are one of those people who has an expert tell you something...you say, "it sounds good", and then don't do it, then, you have very little hope for change in the near future, imo. The future will 100% be for action takers...who take the actions that are recommended.

The more I use AI, the more I think that people with speaking, persuasion, and presentation skills are going to be in MORE demand. Their words are going to be scripted, and they'll have every single thing available to speak a compelling story and speech. They'll just need to deliver it. As I write more words each day, with almost all thoughts created out of my brain, and lean on AI for some brainstorming, the written word feels like it is going to just be assumed it is AI. I get that video is probably going to hardly be recognizable in the future, however, if you are one of the people who would rather die, than give a public speech, you may want to reconsider and begin learning that skill. In the future, humans will follow humans are leaders.
