As many of you know, my wife's mom has been battling Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer for the past 16-months. It's something I don't talk about frequently on the channel or on X. I try not to bombard you with pity me content, but rather stride forward as the leader of my family. But, it's been a major overhanging event in the background of our lives... like a dark cloud over us. It's also why I have rarely have created content on Tuesday's for over a year... Chemo days. The time has come and hospice begins today. It's been a long journey, but the train is now approaching at full speed. I do want to say that we are not surprised by this. We've seen it coming for some time. Thanks for your patience for the past year with the absence of content every day of the week. We'll get there eventually. But for moment, it'll be a little bumpy. It's a significant moment in time for my family. Prayers for them as we go through this.

Another major piece of FIP.16 is live. Today's hard fork raises the base gas fee to 500 gwei (from 25). Every transaction now burns more flare-networks:native, and validator capacity rises to 300M FLR. What's next: ☀️ FDC request fees begin flowing to FIRE: 90% direct, 10% distributed alongside inflation. ☀️Vote power recalculates, with P-chain stake weighted 5× delegation. Stake placed now is already counted when the new calculation goes live.

We're rolling out a small tweak to boost visibility of your posts to your mutuals (people who you follow back). We noticed this data was missing from the algo and it made your friends appear less in your replies. This resulted in the reply section feeling more like a battleground with people you don't recognize. This should also help clusters form around interests more easily, which many people have asked for.

A lot of energy has gone into growing and sustaining the TVL Flare has built over the past few months. That is great. The chain needed it, and there is still room for it to keep growing. But it is worth keeping in mind that under FIP.16, incentives are broader than TVL alone. Overall ecosystem activity matters too: attestations, transaction fees, usage, and the real demand generated across the network all count.
