@YAPInc
High-impact change nonprofit providing community-based alternatives to youth incarceration, residential care and neighborhood violence.

Shortly after I was first elected, my administration launched the Credible Messenger Program to promote public safety by working directly with our young people, particularly those caught in the justice system, to intervene before violence happens. The program has produced promising results for the Milwaukee County youth it has served through expanding mentorship, resources, and job opportunities. Today, I hosted a roundtable discussion with community leaders and partners to highlight our efforts, discuss what’s working, and collaborate on how we can continue addressing public safety challenges through community violence intervention initiatives. I am proud of these community leaders, advocates, and organizations who are out there every single day fighting back against the epidemic of violence. It’s because of @MkeCoDHHS and our partners who are doing this lifesaving work and advancing innovative public health solutions that prevent violence before it’s late. Looking ahead, I will keep supporting efforts that invest upstream to make our neighborhoods safer and put our youth on pathways to success.
