सौ साल लगे गाय पर राजनीति का सही जवाब आने में: आरएसएस सौ साल से गाय की राजनीति करता आया है. उद्देश्य गाय को बचाना नहीं था बल्कि इसके सहारे मनुवाद को स्थापित करना था और टार्गेट मुसलमान को बनाया गया. गाय की राजनीति ने सबको डिफेंसिव कर दिया था, गांधी तक को. गाय भारत के संविधान तक में आ गई आर्टिकल 48 में. इस पूरी शताब्दी में एक बात स्थापित कर दी गई कि मुसलमान गाय काटता है लेकिन एक दूसरा सच छुपाया गया कि गाय कटवाता कौन है, काटने के लिए बेचता कौन है और पैसा कौन कमाता है. बंगाल के मुसलमानों ने इस छुपे हुए सच से पर्दा हटा दिया. बकरीद पर बंगाल के मुसलमानों ने तय कर लिया कि वो गाय की कुर्बानी नहीं करेंगे. हाहाकार मचा हुआ है क्योंकि गाय बेचने का काम हिंदू करते हैं जिनमें घोष समाज का बड़ा कब्जा है. बकरीद पर कुर्बानी के लिए मुंह मांगी कीमत मिलती है जो साल भर का खर्चा निकलती है व्यापारियों का. करोड़ों का कर्ज़ा लिया जानवार खरीदने और उसके रख रखाव में कि बकरीद में माल काटेंगे. मुसलमानों के फैसले ने सब किए धरे पर पानी फेर दिया. अब वहां मुसलमान हिंदू व्यापारियों से कह रहा कि अपनी मां को मत बेचो, ले जाओ और सेवा करो. अब इस आंदोलन को बंगाल के बाहर भी निकलना चाहिये. पहली बार गाय की राजनीति पर सही जवाब मिला है. लोकतंत्र में कौन क्या खाता है ये उसका चुनाव है लेकिन अगर इस पर बीजेपी राजनीति करती है और बेकसूर लोग मारे जाते हैं तो रणनीतिक फैसले समय की मांग है.

Thank you, @TanushreePande. You are right and I should have written it that way. The framing was lazy and it erased exactly the journalists who have paid for the work. India's institutional press has capitulated. The journalists who refused to are paying the price for that capitulation, in lost jobs, lost platforms, and harassment. The international attention on @HelleLyngSvends should be the moment to name all of you as the actual story. More power to you and your colleagues.

No sir, we have. Unfortunately, many of us were thrown out of our jobs and stopped being counted as part of India’s “press corps” precisely because we asked tough ques to the govt. India still has some of the finest independent journalists doing real journalism and asking difficult ques .. often at the cost of being silenced in more ways than one. More power to Helle, absolutely. But even more power to those journalists in India who have been doing this for years, under far harsher circumstances, with far more at stake.
