Level 35 wizard. So bad that spells only have a 10% success rate, 90% backfire. Ate the Toshi Toshi no Mi during an interdimensional excursion out of curiosity.

@Tibetskiy1 If mobile games count as (video) games then stuff like board games should too. You can add as many layers to this as you want to shift the stats in any direction.
English

I still remember how this guy "won" an argument with a strawman kid on his show by saying that a lot of women play mobile games and mobile games still count as games, despite kid protesting that mobile games aren't real games

REN!!!!!!!@girlderping
i cannot believe "women don't play video games" is still a take in the ginormous 2026

@denpafish Never too old to start over. You just have to end the current run and start a new one from the main menu.

@GreenTextRepost There are ones out there that do take some effort but those are for experienced Linux users that want the purist experience such as Arch (which is most likely what the Anon was using).
English

@GreenTextRepost Like everyone commenting missed by point: this isn't like year 2000 anymore. There's thousands of modern Linux distros for desktop that requires little to no effort on the users end to set up. You can easily have them set up just a easily as it is to install Windows.

@Lyppos_IV Everyone debating about if fungi is alive or an animal forget about one prefect counter example: cordyceps. A type of fungi that infects and puppets around insects and arthropods, controlling them to move around, spread and are the inspiration for the "zombies" in The Last of Us.

@Sneedndfeed @CNviolations And say a QR code leads you to a site to install, in this case, a fake McDonald's app to redeem your free burger...

English

@ZannyToy @CNviolations That's now how this shit works. Nothing can install itself. It can be a link to a scam or a phishing attempt but even if it goes to a site that automatically starts a download you have to install the app manually. You have to alter multiple settings in android to do this.

@Retr0_Rider @JTorreiroAguiar @GreenTextRepost Those games also usually suffer from performance issues even on Windows for that same reason and it often end up getting removed when enough people complain about the performance issue.
English

@Retr0_Rider @JTorreiroAguiar @GreenTextRepost Except that's not Linux's fault those don't work. Those games are built to prevent playing on linux via the anti-cheat. Kernel level anti-cheat means it has full access to everything on the computer which is a massive security risk that Linux doesn't allow.
English

@Retr0_Rider @JTorreiroAguiar @GreenTextRepost Notice the green text just says Linux rather than which distro they're using. There's a good chance it was something like Arch which is built around setting up everything yourself. The first distro I ran as my main was Pop! OS, it has everything including Steam preset up.
English

@ZannyToy @JTorreiroAguiar @GreenTextRepost Lmfao ur saying this under a post that says the exact opposite tho so likee
English

@Retr0_Rider @JTorreiroAguiar @GreenTextRepost Dude, Steam has fixed the gaming issue with their Proton system. The Steam Deck is literally running on Linux. The only games your going to have major issues with are ones with invasive kernel level anti-cheat that basically force you to be playing on Windows.
English

@JTorreiroAguiar @ZannyToy @GreenTextRepost I mean, I feel ppl who have a opinion on linux already know that first part tho so like. But also I feel that because it's easier now doesn't mean its as user friendly as Win/Mac, especially for gaming. It has a long way to go imo
English

@Retr0_Rider @JTorreiroAguiar @GreenTextRepost There's thousands of desktop distros that all work out of the box with little to no effort on the user's part. Like there's ones that are basically just Windows with Linux under the hood. If you do run into an issue there's almost always an easy copy/paste solution unlike having-

@wesleytypes @MegaCrit Spoiler: the demographic in question has an all red flag with 5 stars.
English

@wesleytypes @MegaCrit Might want to check the actual reviews. It's mixed because of review bombing by a specific demographic that isn't happy that the game is being actively balanced. They we're very happy when they could keep easily doing infinite loops which completely breaks the game's difficulty.

English

> sell 3 million copies in the first week
> reach a player peak of over 500,000
> receive universal praise on release
So how does Slay the Spire II currently have a "Mixed" rating on Steam?
Because Steam user reviews are not really reviews in the traditional sense. Instead, they're used as a bargaining chip to communicate real time grievances with game updates, bugs, and developer choices at the expense of a game's actual overall quality and reputation.
This is one of the many reasons why I don't trust user reviews and scores.

English

@memeslich There's zero reason for why we can't still buy games on like a thumb drive if the argument is going to be about the size of modern games.
