@kaikoolkool @Bakutan_bot1 We don't mock people who are making a sincere effort to learn English. English is strange in many ways, and we know it's especially hard for Japanese, just like Japanese is very hard for us.

@mandla_mbokotho @elonmusk It's just bemusing to me that "Free South Africa!" was a slogan in the 80's when everyone was against Apartheid, and here you are in 2026 still using it and talking about black empowerment as if nothing happened in the meantime. Anyway, good luck.

@Zeedub85 @elonmusk It is almost impossible to discuss South African issues with an American account handler because they don't affect you and shouldn't be your concern. You should focus on making America great I'll focus on freeing South Africa

Elon Musk
Elon Musk@elonmusk·
South Africa won’t allow Starlink to be licensed, even though I was BORN THERE, simply because I am not Black! We were offered many times the opportunity to bribe our way to a license by pretending that a Black guy runs Starlink SA, but I have refused to do so on principle. Racism should not be rewarded no matter to which race it is applied. Shame on the racist politicians in South Africa. They should be shown no respect whatsoever anywhere in the world and shunned for being unashamedly RACISTS!
DogeDesigner@cb_doge

Why Elon Musk is RIGHT to fight South Africa’s racist rules blocking Starlink? Imagine this: Long ago, South Africa had very unfair laws called apartheid. They treated Black people badly and kept them from good jobs and money. When those bad laws ended, the country made new rules (called B-BBEE) to help Black people get a fair share of business. The idea was good – like a big helping hand. But now? For companies like Starlink to sell fast internet, they MUST give away 30% of their business to Black partners. Just because of skin color. Elon Musk was born in South Africa. He left as a teen to chase big dreams. Today, his company SpaceX wants to bring Starlink – super fast satellite internet – to South Africa. But the rules say no unless they give up part of the company. Elon said it right: “Starlink is not allowed because I’m not Black.” SpaceX promised to spend about $30 million (that’s 500 million rand!) to give FREE high-speed internet to 5,000 rural schools. That helps over 2.4 MILLION kids every year learn better, get jobs later, and have a brighter future. Real help for the people who need it most! Starlink already works in about 24 other African countries. Villages there now have internet for school, doctors, and business. South Africa’s villages are missing out because of these racist rules. Elon isn’t asking for special favors. He just wants fair play so Starlink can connect everyone fast. Internet = education, jobs, hope. Why hold back millions of kids over rules that pick by race and color?

@mandla_mbokotho @elonmusk But you are already free from me. I have nothing to with South Africa. How do my feelings (which you don't know) impede your empowerment in any way? Aren't you already empowered?

You feel offended and hating BEE so bad to downgrade it to a mere bribe which is not. The BEE policy is designed in this way and has nothing to do with individuals but everything to do with Black empowerment which we as South Africans don't think is a mistake. Free South Africa please🙏🏾

Happy Birthday, John Milius. Red Dawn was the first PG-13 film to hit screens. The “what if” premise of small-town America being invaded was nightmarish. In ’84, it was tagged the most violent movie ever with 134 acts of violence per hour (about 2.23 a minute). Wolverines!

@FreeRangeEggs4 @it_unprofession I had a friend who was obsessed with Risk. One time, he placed a huge pile of armies next to one of my territories where I had 2 or 3. I rolled nothing but 6 36 times, destroying his entire pile. He got real mad. This is my personal evidence that we're in a simulation.

My friend invited me to his "casual game night." I thought that meant snacks and maybe Uno. He dimmed the lights, pulled out a whiteboard, and said, "We'll start with Catan, obviously." Obviously. Within 20 minutes, three grown adults were accusing each other of "sheep hoarding" with the intensity of a custody battle. One guy slammed his hand on the table and yelled, "You broke our wheat alliance, Trevor." I don't even know Trevor. I'm just trying to figure out why there's a resource called "ore" and why I'm emotionally invested in it. At one point, someone looked me dead in the eye and asked if I wanted to trade wood. I haven't recovered. We finished at midnight and my friend said, "Next time we'll do something light, like Twilight Imperium." I Googled it. That's not a board game. That's a part-time job with lore.

@Zeedub85 @NASA I’m meaning the glow in space. My guess is that it is the Sun’s aurora which must therefore be more extensive and stronger than I’d thought. Someone wrote that the sun would have a diameter ⅕ that of the Moon at this orbital altitude, which means the aurora is many times larger.

The Artemis II crew had the rare chance to see a solar eclipse from space. 🚀🌘☀️ This video stitches together views from Orion's solar array wing cameras throughout the eclipse, showing the Sun as it disappears behind the Moon, revealing a glowing halo around the lunar disk.

@NASA Is the glow the extended ‘atmosphere’ of the Sun? The Moon has no atmosphere and I would think not much orbiting dust so the light surely can’t be reflecting of anything in its vicinity.

I’ve never understood how some people don’t realize that the idea that the entire space program, mercury, Apollo, moon landings etc. was a tremendously expensive multi decade hoax that has never been fully revealed or confirmed, is actually a bigger stretch of the imagination than believing that they put tons of money into a program using the best minds and bravest men they could find and actually accomplished a tremendous feat.

Project Hail Mary writer Andy Weir on social commentary in books: "I dislike social commentary. Like… I really hate it. When I’m reading a book, I just want to be entertained, not preached at by the author. Plus, it ruins the wonder of the story if I know the author has a political or social axe to grind. I no longer speculate about all possible outcomes of the story because I know for a fact that the universe of that book will conspire to ensure that the author’s political agenda is validated. I hate that." "I put no politics or social commentary into my stories at all. Anyone who thinks they see something like that is reading it in on their own. I have no point to make, and I’m not trying to affect the reader’s opinion on anything. My sole job is to entertain, and I stick to that." "To that end, I also don’t talk about my personal political opinions publicly. I don’t want readers to even know, honestly. I don’t want that in the back of their minds as they read my stuff." Is this why he has the #1 sci-fi movie in decades?

@cohkohhh @NASA This whole thing about Artemus slingshotting around the moon, are they trying to tell us that everything from the sixties was a lie? If we landed there 6 times already why all the hype? Were they lying then or now? Do you think they thought we'd forget? 🤷
