My mother taught us black American history when we were in elementary school. The vast majority of those incredible stories of courage, intelligence, savvy that we learned have NEVER been told in plays, film, television. Instead, the Left declare bullying into white history is the "win". This is creating another generation of people who believe black people have never accomplished anything, and the only way to prevail is to push ourselves into the history (and stories) of whites. Subconscious effect = black people become more insecure + entitled + believe bullying is how you win. Racism doesn't decline if you only change the target. Anti-white racism is still racism and doesn't improve the circumstances of black people. Trumpeting and INCREASING OUR OWN ACCOMPLISHMENTS is the only way forward.

@BenjiBacker Alfalfa needs to dry completely before baling or it molds. The water doesn't leave with it. It evaporates into the environment. You don't "lose" water through agriculture. It's part of the natural water cycle.

The Southwest is running out of water, and 80% of Arizona's water goes to agriculture...not homes. Arizona ships a MILLION homes worth of water (via alfalfa alone) to China, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE every year. The West needs many different solutions, but this madness must end

@CorieWhalen I see tons of ads about class action rulings against companies who UNKNOWINGLY harmed people, like with asbestos and lead. What the social media companies have done is criminal and they should be held accountable.

This California jury’s ruling against Meta and Google is honestly wild. If social media platforms can be held liable for “causing harm” via “addiction,” what *won’t* fit that standard? I think parents should limit screen time, especially for very young kids, but come on, people.

I don’t think people realize how much healthcare costs are driving big companies to fire and not hire. It costs them $30k per family, per year for premiums and care. Most of that goes to the massive, vertically integrated insurance companies that send weekly bills that no one reviews in details. And it doesn’t include the company overhead to deal with it all. It’s usually the 2nd largest expense after payroll. Which is insane It’s far easier to blame AI than it is to blame Healthcare costs. Want to increase jobs, wages and improve affordability for every American ? Break up the biggest insurance companies. Make divest non insurance companies. They don’t need thousands of subsidiaries. That’s how they game and abuse the system and increase costs for all of us. Call your senator and tell them to support the BreakUp Big Medicine Bill by @HawleyMO and @SenWarren.

No voter ID, especially when combined with mail-in ballots, means the system is engineered to make fraud impossible to prove. Everyone knows that you can barely get through your week without showing ID for the most banal activities, like shopping at Costco. The only reason to ban ID is to hide massive voter fraud.
Katie Miller@KatieMiller

The reality is there's mass amounts of cheating in our elections. Just because there's an engineered lack of data, does not mean there isn't data to the contrary. The new CBS/YouGov poll shows that 80% of Americans support Voter ID including 80% of black Americans & 77% of Hispanic Americans. Yet why is it that Congress seems so intractable to wanting to pass a such a popular policy?

@thereal_SnS The Christian bakery didn't refuse them service. The baker didn't want to participate in a gay wedding by making a custom cake. They could have bought anything in the store and felt perfectly welcome. Big difference.

Unpopular opinion: A private business has the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason. That applies to the lesbian couple who declined to serve Governor Sarah Sanders just as much as it did to the Christian baker who refused a gay couple. Rights don’t depend on which side of the political aisle you’re on.
Right Angle News Network@Rightanglenews

BREAKING - It’s been revealed the Arkansas bakery that kicked out Gov. Huckabee Sanders because her “politics made them feel unsafe” is run by two butch lesbians, Jill McDonald and Wendy Shay. It would be a shame if people gave their business some attention.

@jeffreytucker I ran a rural route for 3 years. Every single package is scanned in and out at every single location. So is all priority mail, and everything with tracking. She just meeded to know which box number you had, but she would have to scan it out before giving it to you.

Was just at the post office where a very old lady behind the desk needed my license for identity purposes and then, with a pen and paper, wrote down my name and address on a paper and took that scrap of paper to look for my package. Sounds awful but I had a feeling of nostalgia. If this operation is "privatized," it will become an extension of the surveillance state and digitized like everything else, spying on everyone and compromising freedoms and privacy in the name of convenience and efficiency. I'll be picking up a package with a retina scan and they will already know what is in it. Realizing this is a bit of a shock for me, because I've been pushing for post office privatization my whole career. Now I dread what it would mean in practice. It won't be actual market competition for delivery; it will be a corporatist scam. Inevitably.

Walmart is rolling out digital price tags at all of its stores. At the same time, the corporate giant just secured a patent for "dynamically and automatically updating item prices.” Plus another patent for using machine learning to predict demand and recommend prices.

ADUs are good, they're the next logical step in densifying suburban spaces which must happen. Grandparents and kids can stay in them while the middle aged parents live in the same house. Rent money stays in the family. Remember suburban density means more kids, more block parties, lower cost of labor, busing and biking infrastructure becomes viable, etc

am i the only one who feels like "you can rent a shed in someones backyard" is less of a big win as far as housing affordability goes, and more of an unsettling harbinger of our backslide out of prosperity?

@LisaBritton You do not need a teacher to fill the role of a father. You need teachers to stop coming between students and their parents. A teacher's role is to provide education. Not to mold the behavior and worldview of the child. That is the role of the parents.

While we're discussing wildlife overpasses, let's discuss why they're important: They prevent ~97% of wildlife collisions They singlehandedly save wildlife populations (and migration patterns) They can save our country $10B per year BUT...they (should) cost $5-15M, not $100M
