The debt was always going to be a problem but this isn't the time to have The Reckoning. For that, you need a leader devoted to facing it head on. We will need to rip the band aid clean off. That will take preparation. Trump didn't run on that. My advice is to end the Iran War and go back to focusing on domestic policy. An America with strong borders, law and order, and the Left in retreat will handle the fiscal reckoning much better than a nation distracted by foreign wars and rocked by assassinations and partisan violence. My two cents.
