The more I think about this, the more I think Lionsgate got scammed. AI output can't be copyrighted and Runway is being sued in a class action that just went to discovery. I don't think it's a coincidence that one of the smaller studios signed up first.

Lionsgate has partnered with Runway. I wonder how the directors and actors of their films feel about having their work fed into the AI to make a proprietary model. As an artist on The Hunger Games? I'm pissed. This is the first step in trying to replace artists and filmmakers.

@Rahll Aren’t all gen-AI companies trying to take a page from Uber? I.E. quickly/unethically forcing cheap goods on a market, while undercutting/pushing out competitors. The moment the competition “goes away” they jack up the prices hoping to finally make a profit.

@dsantat They are trying to extend the grift just a lil’ bit more before all those cases come crashing down around them,or all the money dries up, or they find another grift to latch onto. This isn’t a tool, it’s just a new component to the hype machine that will do more harm than good.
