Unraveling the genetic architecture of complex traits with genome-wide association studies

@_andreicon has a lovely paper on white blood traits. Andrei uses observational and Mendelian randomization methods to show that a higher eosinophil count might protect against colorectal cancer. Thanks to @GW4BioMedDTP for Andrei's PhD funding.

Did you know about the Spanish multi-cohort project CORDELIA? Spaniards will finally be represented in Genetic Epi: >100,000 participants from 12 Spanish regions (out of 17 "comunidades autónomas") will be genotyped.
