@Fahadnaimb Travelled last week with @emirates Madrid-Dubai-Melbourne. Besides planes being not quite as busy as usual it all felt pretty normal. Dubai airport certainly wasn’t “empty” at all.

Is Dubai Airport really 'dead' like some online stories claim, or is that just selective reporting? Walked through today and saw packed terminals, busy queues, lots of transiting passengers, and strong Southeast Asia traffic... Emirates A350s to Vietnam and other spots arriving nearly full almost daily. Plenty of people waiting for taxis too. What I'm seeing with my own eyes doesn't match the 'everyone's leaving' narrative. The hub is operational and Southeast Asia routes are holding up well.

Hi Nicko, we understand the confusion here. Refunds for Emirates‑operated flights booked through Qantas are currently available for travel up to 31 March 2026. Emirates is applying the same date range to its own bookings as well. If you'd like us to take a look at your specific booking, please DM your details.

@Qantas if we've booked flights to Europe codeshare Emirates. Are we entitled to refunds in accordance to Emirates or Qantas policies?

@vueling You cancelled my flight. You didn’t offer me either of below (these are terms from Vueling) so why are you denying me a refund on hotel expenses?

@_ashmair @vueling Oh.. For us we managed to check-in at the airport, it wasn’t cancelled yet when we checked in around 7pm. We were already at the departure area just waiting for the gate number when Bilbao disappeared on the board. Apparently, the flight was cancelled.

@vueling I've not been offered a refund for the cancelled flight on Friday at all. No communication from Vueling. Was also denied boarding on Saturday morning due to over fuelling which Vueling have emailed to deny ever happened!

@langellamaria1 @vueling How did you check in? Before security I’m assuming? I couldn’t get past security, the boarding pass wouldn’t work.

@_ashmair @vueling It was on Friday, July 19, 2024 VY7293. Original flight was 740pm. They can’t say that it’s a no show coz they checked us in.
