@thsottiaux What's next week? (Hopefully a new model, and an announcement that the 2x limits are permanent / extended) 🤞

Growth of codex continues to outpace our prediction (maybe we are not super good at that) and we almost ran out of capacity three days in a row. We have ramped up more significantly ahead of next week.

@visakanv he's probably just tired of all the hate he's publicly getting. any tiny decision he takes evokes a mob that goes after him, regardless of the decision as it's hard to please everyone simultaneously.

With items on your to-do list, and projects left to finish, with paragraphs half-written, and movies still unwatched, with songs left to listen to, and code left to compile, with places yet to visit, and food yet to try, You will die. Use this reminder to "live" today.

@karpathy I fixed this in Drift Inward - so you control what memories are included, what's not, or disable it entirely per query - transparent and as personalized as you want it to be.

One common issue with personalization in all LLMs is how distracting memory seems to be for the models. A single question from 2 months ago about some topic can keep coming up as some kind of a deep interest of mine with undue mentions in perpetuity. Some kind of trying too hard.

Balaji Srinivasan on taking the L to set up for the W: "Before Satya Nadella took over Microsoft, it was losing on mobile to iOS and Android." "He took the L... and he said, 'You know what? Linux is there. Linux is not going to go away.'" "We're going to run Linux on Microsoft hardware." "Mobile is not going away and nobody's installing the Microsoft mobile OS." "So we're going to allow Word and PowerPoint and Excel to run on iOS and Android devices." "And... the browser isn't going away. So we're going to make Office 365 work in the cloud." "Because he took the L, Satya set Microsoft up for the W." @balajis with @PeterMcCormack

Doing things that don't scale and making something that people want- not just because @paulg said so, but because both are rewarding in the beginning, and the latter is rewarding forever.

Just started reading this and the foreward here by @naval is quite possibly the greatest foreword I've ever read.
Eric Jorgenson 📚 ☀️@EricJorgenson

🚨📕 THE BOOK OF ELON IS NOW LIVE!!! 🎉🚀 This is the book we WISHED @elonmusk would write… “All of Elon's most useful ideas, in his own words.” Learn directly from the world’s greatest entrepreneur, like you’re sitting across from him at dinner. It took FIVE YEARS to make this for you. Because it's built from hundreds and hundreds of Elon's public appearances. I went through 3,000,000+ words to collect the most useful and timeless ideas. The final book is ~50,000 words. Every word is USEFUL. (This is what I do. My first book, The Almanack of Naval Ravikant, is one of the top 100 most highlighted books of all time on Kindle.) Then, I spent $50,000+ on editing and design so it looks and feels beautiful. Then… > Foreword by @naval. > Visuals by @jackbutcher. > Blurb from @mrbeast. > Published by @scribemediaco. > And yes, approval on this idea from Elon himself, thanks to @samteller. I went Maximum Effort to make this an all-timer. We got 10/10 on reviews from early readers, then worked on it for ANOTHER YEAR. Why so much effort? My mission is to create One Million Musks. For a generation to lift our gaze and build, so our grandchildren live in a world beyond our wildest dreams. I’m an independent author. I don’t get an advance. I risk my own time and money to make these books. Then we give away millions of them. Digital versions are free. I believe this book can benefit every human, and if you can’t pay five bucks for it, I want to personally gift it to you. Because I know it is useful. Useful how? You may be seeking purpose, a mission worthy of your life’s effort. You may have a clear purpose and seek the tools for success. You will find both in this book. Get the benefits of Elon’s entire life of hard-won lessons in a five-hour, easy read. (I checked, it’s a 5th-grade reading level.) You’ll feel personally mentored by the greatest entrepreneur in history. Click below to buy it now on Amazon, Audible, or directly from me. Amazon: amzn.to/47avSuh Audible: lnkd.in/gi_7HrFP Me: lnkd.in/gS2xWUWH If you’re not sure it’s worth $4.99 yet, just start reading the free version. PLEASE take 6 seconds to Like, Bookmark, and Repost. Even better: send this to your friends, team, or Group Chats! I guarantee this book will improve their lives. Spread the word! Every little thing helps. Your support spreads good ideas around the world, helping people and making the future better for everyone. Thank you! Forward. Together.

@willdepue @teortaxesTex Isn't that a credible way to improve regardless of bots? Take what worked, apply new technique - see if that works and pushes the frontier - reiterate?

@teortaxesTex note a lot of this is due to autoresearch bots just grabbing whatever the top submission did

Obvious, but: billions of dollars in compute that OpenAI has been expending on training largely went to automated experiments of this sort, with larger scale models. I really wonder how many Xe^23-24 artifacts they've burned through.

Wow, things are happening really fast. Apparently, XSA has already become a standard component of the leading solutions in the openai parameter golf challenge. github.com/openai/paramet…

@krishnanrohit theory- cc had the better coding model first, hence captured more swift code from all the early adopters using it. codex only recently caught up, but because most things in the apple eco is closed source- they don't yet have the rich swift data that the other lab got to first.

@gabrielchua 4o-mini-tts is too inconsistent for production use. tts-1 and tts-1-hd are better (don't depreciate them anytime soon).

Now with `gpt-5.4-mini` and `nano` out, I put together a simple cheat sheet of the latest OpenAI models by use case. Noticed at a few recent hackathons & meetups: some folks still default to `gpt-4o-mini` for LLMs and `whisper-1` for transcription. Newer options tend to fit better now with much better performance. If you’re running into issues switching, lmk!

tfw you scroll past obvious slop written with llm- you try to check whether anyone in the comments also figured it out and posted "this is ai" comments, but most comments are also llm-written. no one's bothered. everything is ai. it's a glorious world.

Can someone help us get a Stripe invite? I'd like to integrate it for international customers. We have decent volume (8 digits in INR) annually. Anyone who works there, or has connection. Thank you in advance 😅 @stripe
