In the war of lies, half-lies, and half-truths, the seeker of truth wields discernment like a sword, integrity as a shield, and a stoic's balance.

77 out of 100 young Americans can't pass basic military fitness 😳. The Gorilla's fix? Recruit 42-year-olds and accept weed convictions now! The Baby Monkey is too obese, too medicated, too distracted to serve. Ain't no way that's accidental in a system built on processed food and screens😮.

1/ I started something new. Palm Beach Financial Journal. My first piece drops today. With millions heading to the streets on March 29 for "No Kings Day" — here's what I found when I followed the money. 🧵 2/ The "No Kings" movement has mobilized an estimated 5–7 million people across 2,500+ cities in multiple waves. A third national day of action is scheduled for March 29, 2026. The scale is real. The organization behind it is worth examining. 3/ The movement's economic arm — boycotts of Amazon, Target, Home Depot, Walmart, McDonald's, and others — targets companies that collectively employ nearly 5 million American workers. Cashiers. Warehouse workers. Delivery drivers. Store associates. The very people this movement claims to champion. 4/ So who's funding the infrastructure behind all of this? An investigative series traced $278 million to a single source: a Shanghai-based tech tycoon who, on video, publicly declared alignment with President Xi and the Chinese Communist Party. 5/ That money reportedly flowed through shell entities and donor-advised funds into a network of ~2,000 organizations — what investigators describe as a transnational "asymmetric propaganda machine." Three federal departments are now investigating. 6/ I want to be clear: the concerns many protesters hold about executive overreach and civil liberties are legitimate. Real people have real grievances. But those people deserve to know who is organizing them — and why. Not left. Not right. Just: follow the money, examine the architecture, and tell you what we find. Full analysis here 👇 palmbeachfinancialjournal.com/why-no-kings-d… Follow along — there's a lot more coming. 🌴📊 #NoKings #NoKingsDay #FollowTheMoney #PalmBeachFinancialJournal

This algorithm uses one of my favourite theorems in math, the Johnson-Lindentrauss Lemma, which says you can drastically reduce the dimensionality of n points to just log(n) dimensions and still preserve pairwise distances

Great insight into how the author's psyche shaped his most impactful novel.
Orson Scott Card@orsonscottcard

Addendum: How I did it -- once. My only start-quick novel was Ender's Game. I had had some traction with the novelet “Ender's Game,” and I had already committed to its main character as the protagonist of Speaker for the Dead. I needed a novel version of Ender's Game to properly set up Speaker, so readers of the EG novel would be prepared to pick up the story 3,000 years later. (Time dilation in lightspeed flight allowed frequent travelers to live through millennia.) I already knew, from expanding Mikal's Songbird into the novel Songmaster, that you don't novelize a short story by tacking twenty chapters onto the end. If the short story works, you start way earlier, developing characters and situations leading up to the same climax and resolution that worked so well in the short form. (If they did not work well, why are you novelizing it in the first place?) So to set up the story of EG, which began when Ender was given command of his own “army” in the orbiting Battle School, I went back to when he was chosen, and chose, to be taken out of his childhood home at around the age of six. Rigorous testing had led to Ender Wiggin being one of the most promising young recruits (draftees) to be trained to fight the invading hive queens. To show Ender's childhood family, I handled it quickly by putting Ender in my own family, back when there were only three of us kids. In my family, my sister was eldest, and a four-year gap between me and my older brother made us anything but close. So Ender grew up with a hostile older brother and a protective and kindly older sister — both of whom had come close to being drafted themselves. Every vile thing Peter did to Ender, my own brother had done to me. Every in-joke between Ender and Valentine was based on real memories shared with my sister. In this tiny cell, the parents seemed as distant as prison guards, quite unlike my own parents, who were in the main much more nurturing and involved. 1/3 🧵 ➡️

So embarrassing. Bullying allies for help. To be a US diplomat now is a hell of a job. And - each president or prime minister of their respective countries will need to explain to their populations why their men and women of their militaries may die-for a US president who insults and demeans them. For a war of choice, not necessity. If some countries tell us to fuck off- it’s totally deserved. I imagine many, however, will go along with something that looks positive, but that will be contingent on end of hostilities, ie, a nothing burger for now. We shall see.

EXCLUSIVE: President Trump told me in a phone call today that Iran is ready to negotiate a ceasefire but he's not yet ready to make a deal. “Iran wants to make a deal, and I don’t want to make it because the terms aren’t good enough yet,” he said. Trump also told me of Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran's new supreme leader: "I don't know if he's even alive. So far, nobody's been able to show him." nbcnews.com/politics/donal…
