This was the street of my home in Beit Hanoun. The first photo is from before the war, when life was still normal, when this place was full of family, memories, and small everyday moments. The second photo is from the last time I saw it. Even then, so much had already been destroyed. Today, my home is gone. My entire town has been flattened. Everything I grew up with has been erased. This didn’t happen by accident. This is the result of ongoing destruction that has taken so much from so many families like mine. I am left with memories of a life that no longer exists. I don’t miss anything complicated. I just miss home.
