@_tropicalbean They did, but it's this current wave I'm referring to specifically with the reference to id Software.

Reminder: id Software somehow got hit with a massive layoff wave while Microsoft hasn't touched 343 or even slapped them on the wrist after fifteen years of gross mishandling of their flagship system-seller franchise.

@hellspartan94 @TehSpearhead Flame thrower and rocket were in the og ce on pc. I guess the first half didn’t really need any major changes, but wildlife would’ve been sick

@_tropicalbean @TehSpearhead I’ll give you the ODSTs and Firebase examples but one or two weapons/vehicles not being added when there was so many added doesn’t feel like a real criticism to make. The needle rifle is so good to have and that weapon isn’t in any Halo game outside of Reach.

TLDR though: I think Halo CE is a good remake, but I don't think it needed to exist. I appreciate the changes it made, but feel it could've done more. Sprint is meh, I'm too indifferent/uninformed on it. UE5 makes game look nice, but less unique.

@lastchalice Infinite sequel

The next Halo release. Would you rather have it be a direct sequel to Halo Infinite, or a Halo 2 remake?

@justahaloguy I really like the remake but I also have issues with it. Wish they kept the halo infinite forerunner aesthetic, cutscenes are weird and seem rushed. Not giving us the stanchion or mk4 is lazy. And not enough cut content or new things added.

It’s so dumb seeing two camps of Halo fans. It’s either all in with the new stuff or be completely turned off by it. There’s good and bad in the new Halo era and there was good and bad in the OG Halo. Inserting tribalism into your favorite game franchise is certainly a choice.

Pretty sure I'm in a minority but I really do enjoy seeing Reach Marines present in-game

@HaloCodex They did in my game, they yelled hell yeah

The first time I played Combat Evolved, one of the first things that stood out to me was the Marines reacting when my Warthog caught air. It's a tiny detail, but it's moments like that that made Halo's world feel believable.

@Hollowtide Overall it’s great for me. Main thing it still feels like halo. There are some issues but a the first game in unreal is great.
