In the 1950s, prior to the revolution, Cuba was run by the Mafia. Lucky Luciano, Santo Trafficante and Meyer Lansky made millions by propping up the violent dictator Fulgencio Batista, who had a thing for torturing his own people. Weird sex parties and human trafficking too. Think Epstein Island but with roulette tables and famous pop singers.
