Like a salad, life may not be the most appealing lunch option but if you can keep finding the blueberries every now and again, it is both rewarding and fulfilling. #BlueberriesInMySalad

I wrote a book! A new journey this year towards fitness & strength, documented what I learnt in a breezy 60 page read amzn.to/34PAqoO. The book combines data with my experiences with nutrition & exercise. #BlueberriesInMySalad #rstats #ggplot2 #fitnessjourney #dataviz

Day 42 done with 42 km. A full marathon day today. From now on, every single day will be more than a full marathon distance. Today felt like one of the easiest days of this challenge. Body and mind were perfectly synchronised, even with minimal sleep and recovery. Moments like these give me confidence and hope that the same rhythm will come during the Run Across India challenge. Onwards to Day 43. #day42 #01to100kmrunningchallenge #01kmstrongereveryday

Forget VO2 max. Forget grip strength. There might be a better predictor of how long you'll live, and most of us are getting it wrong. Tomorrow: James Nestor.

I built GoodAIList.com to help me stay-up-date with new AI stuff. It's tracking 14K open source repos so far, with contributions from over 145K developers. Every day, it: - searches for new AI repos (based on 123 keywords and topics) - surfaces repos that are gaining traction, and - categorizes each repo The annotations are done by AI so they are not super accurate, but they've helped me find some useful stuff. It also lets me see where the contributors are, so when I travel, I can find folks doing cool stuff in a new city or country.

Just tried Claude Code and it’s awesome! There’s something about vibe coding in the terminal that feels more fun than doing it in IDEs! I love how it makes its own todos and checks off them one by one. Any tips on Claude Code that you can give me?

People will measure your worth based on the same metric they use for themselves. For some it will be wealth, for some fame, excellence, or character. When you get to know a person, understand what do they pin their self-worth on. What are they most proud of in their lives. This will tell you more about your compatibility with them than anything else.

Like everyone, I've been a bit distracted exploring @deepseek_ai R1 and experimenting with it locally. I've spoken to a few people recently who don't know how to run local LLMs - this thread will cover a few different tools to get up and running easily.

Run deepseek locally: 1. Download @ollama from website 2. Open terminal 3. Type: ollama run deepseek-r1 4. (Optional) use open-webui Stop with the mass hysteria, it’s easy to run locally

Shoutout to the team that built artificialanalysis.ai . Really neat site that benchmarks the speed of different LLM API providers to help developers pick which models to use. This nicely complements the LMSYS Chatbot Arena, Hugging Face open LLM leaderboards and Stanford's HELM that focus more on the quality of the outputs. I hope benchmarks like this encourage more providers to work on fast token generation, which is critical for agentic workflows!

@dharmesh You can do this with Amazon Titan Multimodal embeddings model, use FAISS for a quick in-memory vector store, up and running in 15 minutes.

Has anyone implemented true vector embeddings of images (instead of text)? Not talking about generating a summary of an image, and building vector embeddings off of that (that's easy with GPT-Vision), but creating embeddings based on attributes of the actual image. Example use case: I have 200 photos of a house undergoing construction. Various stages of completion. Want to create embeddings of the photos so I can cluster/group together photos of the same room.

I think both people are sincere, but with different temperaments The former is adventurous. Curious about the most happening stuff out there The latter person is forever worried he is growing dumb with age. Wants to make sure his "fundamentals" are strong

There are two types of intellectually curious people Those who want to learn "exciting", "new" stuff Those who want to relearn basics all the time Former: Oh. I do want to read up on Gen-AI this holiday Latter - Oh. I've forgotten all calculus basics. Will read my kid's texts

@etihad Dear Etihad airways, I had a harrowing experience at the airport in New Delhi. Long story short: your checkin counter does not have machines that can take international credit cards and your people do not tell travelers that there is no Etihad lounge at the airport. (1/n)

Like your person at the checkin counter, this person, when I said to them that there is no Etihad lounge kept on repeating what they said earlier. The person at the checkin counter kept on repeating that they do handle international credit cards, just that my card..(8/n)
