Insanely well done

After years of using different speakers and headphones I found these in an old phone box… so far 15 days in to 2026 their my daily drivers, I honestly think Apple went backwards

I’m not saying that Adobe doesn’t have a place in creative work for me, it does but the sort of narrow minded view I had on program has changed massively Obviously due to systems and workflows I will continue to use Adobe but as an artist I’m so keen to try new programs in 2026!

This year was the first time as an artist and designer I started to realise Adobe isn't the answer for creative work. Procreate as became a corner stone to my drawing Figma is a monster Affinity is a Photoshop & Illustrator killer DaVinci is far better than Premier Pro

It's been a year of Story games for me! so here's my games of the year for 2025, I'm on PS5 so Indiana jones only came out this year - but it does take my top spot Honourable mentions are Borderlands 4 and Battlefield 4

I've spent the year studying how designers are exploring. Then the @karrisaarinen vs. @ryolu_ debate kicked off, and it captured everything I've been seeing this year. I sat down to write a 60 second video about it. 6 hours later I'd written something more. Reasonable hyperbole: this was the most important convo in design this year. Team is stacked going into 2026: Design, dev, video production and a great network of film crew excited to show up when we need them. We talk all day about "taste" in craft. But when you have great taste in people and talent, really cool things happen. It's a big theme in my upcoming episode with Colin & Samir. One of the most important questions he asks: What should exist? It's a question I asked before embarking on this series going backstage with some of the industry's most talented people. This is the first episode. What I learned was a lot different than what I thought I would.

This has been stuck in my head for a few days now, it’s such a beautiful take on creativity and art! People need to create especially in today’s world @OliverJeffers has always been one of my favourite artists and him being from Belfast aswell as me makes it even more special

@designertom @BrettFromDJ Thanks Tommy🫶 Ai has always been something I’ve looked down on but recently using Nano Banana has found its way into my workflow! AI is a tool, and for me never ever the final product

@BrettFromDJ My boy @adnastu always kills it. Going to do a video on his workflow. I give him a rough idea, and he moves so quickly. Love how he incorporates AI into handcrafted work. Look at this Nano Banana reference he shared.

I've been busy. We are less than 2 weeks away from our first episode of This is Taste, and then we get to resume the podcast. Money is tight. Fulfillment is high. And launches are always spooky. I am not an expert on getting your next design role. But I’ve hired 10+ designers this year and here’s what I ask for: I ask for: - Your time zone - 4 examples of your best work - Your availability This respects everyone’s time and I’ve been pleased with the results of this so far. I don’t want to sift through your portfolio, and you don’t want to make one. I want to scan your work in the comments, and then do real work together for 30 days to determine if we’re a good fit. Doesn’t work for everyone or every scenario, but it’s been working well for me.
