I spent the summer interviewing some of the year’s best designers, builders and investors in this community. I wanted to find out how other people were building, experimenting and playing with tools. The goal was to turn those 60-minute convos into shorter, more animated 20-minute stories. But resource limits and scope creep put the podcast on pause. I hated this, because I really enjoyed those conversations and think you will too. So instead of waiting, I’ve decided to pivot on the format. My State of Play podcast will resume in two weeks. We will be releasing nearly 30 60-minute conversations with some of our favorite people. And we’ll save the high production rhythm for our docuseries. We’ll also resume new interviews in January. God damn does that feel good to share. Below: @legendofbern cutting up @tomjohndesign

Team is stacked going into 2026: Design, dev, video production and a great network of film crew excited to show up when we need them. We talk all day about "taste" in craft. But when you have great taste in people and talent, really cool things happen. It's a big theme in my upcoming episode with Colin & Samir. Shoutouts to the Enjoyers Studio team that believes in this chaotic little mission: @legendofbern @editedbysam @agustineguia @adnastu @AlexAperios @kylezantos @laurilllll And a huge thank you to our partners in crime: @JKaplan1 + @benjamweiss and the rest of the @smoothmedia_ team for flexing with our moonshots and helping us get there.

Some people make noise on the internet for the sake of noise. But @soren_iverson knows how to make it mean something. This is how the Weird Al of tech turned his absurdity into a world-class design agency. Full episode on YouTube.

The flames used in this trailer were made up of 14 individual flames that I made with construction paper and glue.
