@richardbrunning @JoddyLoo Got my 80 year old mum one. The full performance version 😂 Not as brutal as a Tesla but still hilarious!! 3.5s 0-60 puts it in some fine 1990s supercar company on the drag strip!

@JoddyLoo I drove an EX30 last year and it was hilarious. Baby blue Volvo that went like a scolded cat! Wasn't expecting that at all.

Update on the VW ID7: I've done well over 500 miles in it now including a 280 mile round trip to the shed last week. It returned 4.3m/kWh on mostly motorway, so in line with expectations and cost less than £6, (soon to be £3.60) and left me with 1/4 of a tank in it.

My Model S has a Cd of 0.24 and the Model Y is 0.23 which is, on paper, lower. But the actual drag scales with Cd x frontal area. On CdA (the product), the model S is about 13% better than the Y. That drag then scales with the square of the speed, so, at low speeds, other factors dominate the efficiency, but at 70+, the aero difference really counts, especially combined with the bigger battery.

@JordanEVGuy Not only the exhaust, but the fumes you breathe when filling up. It’s like when we went from everybody smoking and it being perfectly normal, to it being banned indoors… then you go somewhere it’s not banned and you smell your stinking clothes from the night before.

This will be VERY unpopular. This never gets a mentioned about becoming an EV driver. You don’t realise how bad exhaust fumes are. How bad they smell. How hard it is to breathe. Until you stop being around them. When you switch to an EV, something weird happens. At first, nothing. It just feels normal. Then one day you’re walking through a car park… Or sat behind an older diesel at the lights… Or someone starts their engine right next to you… Or simply drives past. And it hits you. That smell. That thick, dirty, oily exhaust smell. And you suddenly realise… This used to be constant. It was normal. And now it stinks. You can’t breathe. Every school run. Every traffic jam. Every petrol station. Every drive-through queue. We’ve just been conditioned to accept it. Once you’ve had even a short break from it, your tolerance drops massively. It’s like going from a smoky room into fresh air, and then being forced back inside. You notice it instantly. And it feels worse than you remember. That’s what people underestimate. Cleaner air isn’t just some invisible benefit. And once that happens, once you properly notice the difference, there’s no going back, and it will drive you mad.

Glass bottles dominated for centuries - but that’s changing. Our new report Reshaping the Bottle shows why wine & spirits brands are rethinking packaging. 📈 Glass costs up 70% 🌱 73% of consumers would switch for sustainable packaging 📘 Full report: drive.google.com/file/d/1KxlkFO…

It is good and right to leave fossil fuels in the ground, rather than turning them into carbon emissions. This is uncontroversial. But to replace them with the same product from other places helps literally nothing. If you are going to use fossil fuels, use the closest source.

For months now British Iranians and Iranian refugees have been calling for action not words against this brutal regime. Because of this, I have also made the case for targeted intervention to protect protesters from being killed. I hope these airstrikes succeed and #FreeIran.
David Taylor MP@DavidTaylor85

Today I again called for targeted military strikes aimed at degrading the Iranian regime's ability to massacre brave protestors. I also urged the Government to proscribe the IRGC, as well as groups with alleged links to the Ayatollah like the Islamic 'Human Rights' Organisation.

I tell what the problem is with EV's...it's politicians telling us what to do. If the PM says he wants you in an EV and he's going to ban what you enjoy, then our obvious emotion is to hate him, his policies and go against them. If a car that just happens to be powered by fairy dust makes you happy, you're gonna drive it. And if the PM says YOU HAVE to drive it, then your automatic emotion is to tell him to sod off and drive one powered by horse manure for all we care. Am I right? I think I am because I hate people telling what to do.

@mike_matas I am not 100% sure I feel it’s Ferrari… that may not be a bad thing! But it’s some of the finest design work I’ve seen in ages. Huge congratulations! So much to love.

After many years of development, I’m excited to share the interior of the first electric Ferrari designed by LoveFrom. Tactile controls and digital interactions blend into one cohesive interface, shaped through deep collaboration across engineering, interaction, graphics, typography, sound, and industrial design. So incredibly proud of the thoughtfulness and care the team brought to every detail. ferrari.com/en-US/auto/fer…

No. 10 have just asked if I could tweet "a spontaneous message of support for Keir Starmer". I said "I'm an idiot who talks about wine on television and lives in Sweden". "Yes. But, can you tweet something in support of the Prime Minister"

If Mandelson really told Starmer he barely knew Epstein, that was an epic whopper of a lie. Here's Mandelson to Epstein in 2009: "You are the only person who knows everything about me. Don't go away". Their relationship only got closer after 2009.

@colinwalker79 Absolutely. £600 a year in VED plus 3p a mile, while also increasing BIK for company drivers is actively discouraging people.

The question is, are the consequences of some of these decisions beginning to filter through into the new car market? Its too soon to say, and EV sales in 2025 remained impressively strong in 2025 despite this consistency But one to keep an eye on

I think this is a really great starting point. This is how we were 9 years ago. It also gave us the confidence to start trying the occasional long trip just in the EV as a challenge for. After that, we quickly realised that it was no problem 99% of the time and soon we went to two EVs. I have an ICE too but it hasn’t been started in 6-7 years.

Unpopular opinion: Most two-car households should have at least one EV. People hear that and immediately think I'm some Tesla fanboy. But the math makes too much sense to ignore. If you've got two vehicles and one of them is gas, the second one should probably be electric. Lower maintenance, no oil changes, no transmission issues. Quieter ride. More interior space because there's no engine or transmission tunnel. And your gas savings add up faster than you'd think. The objection I always hear: "But what about road trips?" That's why you keep the gas car. Use the EV for the daily commute, errands, and school runs. Use the gas car for the 700-mile drive to the beach twice a year. Most people dismiss EVs because they're solving for the 5% use case instead of the 95%. If you've got two cars in the driveway, you can solve for both.

@wk057 @elonmusk @Tesla I did buy it, but it’s looking like I’ll never get to use it on my 2017 car. Crazy to think you can’t port it to a new one.
