Rev. Frederick Douglass Haynes III has won the Democratic primary for Texas’ 30th Congressional District, the seat currently held by pro-Israel Rep. Jasmine Crockett, who tonight also lost her Senate primary to James Talarico, CBS News projects. Haynes is now favored to be the next representative of the heavily Democratic district. The longtime Dallas pastor leads Friendship-West Baptist Church, one of the region’s largest Black congregations. He is known in North Texas for his civil rights and social justice advocacy, and on Oct. 8, 2023, he tweeted: “Free Palestine. Free Palestine.” Later that day he shared this sermon on how he views the conflict ⬇️

In an era where AIPAC is buying seats to stop progressives, I want it known that it happened in OH-11 first. We cannot talk about AIPAC without mentioning the residents of Cleveland, the second-poorest big city in the country, who were spoken over first. They rocked with me by 10 points but that didn’t make up for AIPAC’s onslaught. I will fight to make sure AIPAC loses in the end. Every. Damn. Day.

A lot of the words used to describe the Democratic Party establishment suggest a conspiratorial mindset. As a resident of Massachusetts, where we have a Democratic supermajority that’s wildly unproductive, I think one of the main issues with the establishment is that they’re lazy
