@GoodmanHoops I love Flory but he was eaten alive by big centers. He's an athletic freak but not tall or tough enough to play center and not a good enough shooter to play forward. He is a great defender but I would rather have big multiple, big centers who can play the position..

Agree. But that’s a huge difference between Flory and what Kansas has at the 5.

@cdotharrison 4 years from natty. 6 years from most dominant team in a while (FU Covid). 4 seed this year lost to St. John's on buzzer beater. What Self did year after year was ridiculous & spoiled us. Portal has changed everything for everyone. Can't have that consistency anymore.

@mctait If a coach can piece together an all-star team of existing players, why ever recruit a freshman? Just try to get the best 23 yr olds each year and completely forget it’s college basketball

It’s a long road in the portal for players & programs alike, but man are there some really talented dudes out there. Call it my Big 12 bias (same one that usually kills my bracket) but KU adding Punch (TCU), Wright (BYU), Johnson (CU) & Diop (ASU) would be a Big 12 all-star team.

@mctait Kinney (scoring lead guard), Perry Johnson (scoring lead guard), Barnett Stokes (better team player than DP) Rosario (utility guard/forward) Punch, Adkins (or other 4 depth) Diop, Mbyia (or other big depth) This would be more complete roster scorers and tougher players

@mctait @JohnBak04896932 Yep - adjust or die. Genie not going back in the bottle. You will still win with older teams, but you won't be growing/developing your own players over 2-4 years like the past. It is all player evaluation, fit and roster construction year after year via free agency. Need a GM.

It’s coaches like this that have pushed me to Coach the way I do for 33 years. The world would say he is one of the best college basketball coaches there is. Because he wins. But, he uses fear and anger to motivate his players. That’s no way to live. That’s not my kind of coach. Transactional vs Transformational. Fear vs Love. Immature vs Mature. It’s like watching a 2 year old having a temper tantrum. Tough to watch.
