6.7 million people are displaced by conflict in the Democratic Republic of Congo. They are a tragically forgotten population without livelihoods or access to education. @Concern provides water, latrines and shelter. Help by setting up a regular gift on Concern.net

This is why #Rohingya refugees in #Bangladesh can barely afford the bare essentials. In just three months @WFP has been forced to dramatically cut assistance: from $12 to $10 to $8 per person, per month. Now we're running out of $$$ – and families are running out of food.

The US led the international support which helped bring peace to Northern Ireland in 1998. Today conflict is a major driver of global hunger. Conflicts can be resolved with the kind of political will that Ireland benefited from 25 years ago. bit.ly/3MIKhEu

A worrying report by @sallyhayd More than 40,000 estimated to have died last year as result of Somalia drought. My thoughts are with my @Concern colleagues on the ground and everyone working to save lives and prevent famine in the Horn Of Africa. irishtimes.com/world/africa/2…

The stories of loss and trauma (below) told by these and other Syrian refugees are heartrending. Everything was lost as their multi story block collapsed around them killing family and friends. They are in the same clothes since the earthquake struck.
Kieran McConville@kjmcconville

Some very harrowing stories here in Akçakale, Türkiye. These Syrian women telling @CeoConcern how their village was destroyed, leaving them homeless and essentially destitute. All lost someone close, one a daughter. @concern is here to support however we can.

@irishmissionun Ireland's effective use of its term on the security council to advance humanitarian action is very much in keeping with the great tradition of the people of Ireland. Concern is actively working on establishing a presence in Yeman to address the huge humanitatian needs.

Yemen has been called the worst humanitarian crisis in the world. It has long been on the #UNSC agenda, with not much positive change. In today's video, Niamh Kelly reflects on Team Ireland's work on Yemen, & how a strong focus on humanitarian needs brought positive changes.

A famine that isn't a famine. How many people are dying as a result of Somalia's devastating drought? A humanitarian worker said the best way to know is to start counting graves, so I attempted to do that. Report here: irishtimes.com/world/africa/2…

I leave Somalia and our super Concern Somalia team with indelible images of malnourished children on my mind. Somalia has energy and potential. However climate change is inflicting a terrible toll on poor farm families. They urgently need our assistance until the rains return.
