The fact that the iPhone Air is twice as popular as the iPhone 16 Plus + no regular users complaining about battery or thermals tells me it was a solid product launch. The iPhone 17 Pro was deemed a huge upgrade by reviewers but regular users complained about the aluminium chassis. I haven’t seen complaints like that about the Air.

@9to5mac @bzamayo When X fakefluencers complain about a tech product, the opposite is usually true. Happened with the MacBook NEO too, they ranted about 8GB RAM, and Apple had its best launch ever.

@leerob The Kimi team who accused you should’ve posted a statement when they found out you were licensing it.

Yep, Composer 2 started from an open-source base! We will do full pretraining in the future. Only ~1/4 of the compute spent on the final model came from the base, the rest is from our training. This is why evals are very different. And yes, we are following the license through our inference partner terms.
Fynn@fynnso

was messing with the OpenAI base URL in Cursor and caught this accounts/anysphere/models/kimi-k2p5-rl-0317-s515-fast so composer 2 is just Kimi K2.5 with RL at least rename the model ID

@creation247 The site has turned into Facebook: Before, you could see your friends' posts, but then Meta decided to shove everything into the feed. Same thing is happening on here. Creating lists is a temporary fix.

One of the biggest problems with X: Your followers don’t see your content. That breaks the relationship between creators and audience. It makes it harder to build trust, friendships, and communities. This used to be a networking site. Now it’s driven by slop and algo chasing.

@MKBHD There are still people saying 8 GB RAM isn't enough, even after so many reviews have debunked their claim that it isn't enough.

Apple has quietly halted App Store updates for popular AI "vibe-coding" applications most notably the $9 billion startup Replit and mobile app builder Vibecode. After months of pushback, Apple is reportedly demanding major UX changes. Replit is being asked to force its generated app previews to open in an external web browser rather than natively inside its app. Vibecode was told it must completely remove the ability to generate software specifically for Apple devices.

@koltregaskes @BrianRoemmele The only way to stop this is for X to stop paying for stolen posts, rage bait, and engagement farming. Grok could scan accounts and evaluate post quality. If X requires paid accounts to post only quality content, they would have to comply.

Big accounts still think they can steel and post other people's content without credit and get away it tut tut! @BrianRoemmele A side note, the post-video feature is a horrible mechanic on X and is being abused every day. I only use it from brands, but not from any other account as it takes the engagement stats away from the creator (confirmed by Elon a while back). If you want to share someone's video, please quote or retweet them. Also stop sharing content from other platforms that are not yours (I've seen this a lot and the creator getting upset!)! Don't use the post-video on personal accounts. @elonmusk and @nikitabier should look to change the mechanic so views and engagement are shared with the OP. cc @Gossip_Goblin

Vision Pro is like the modern Macintosh. Visionary and innovative on many fronts, the next gen interface (GUI/spatial), in a nicely designed, but bulky, expensive product, many years ahead of its time. And neither has sold very well. Thankfully Apple didn’t fire anyone this time.

People who tell you that you shouldn't support DLSS 5 because the "games industry people will lose jobs to AI", don't seem to realize.. We're ALL going to lose our jobs to AI.

@nimlot26 Most of the hate is coming from those who make earning from X Revenue Share. They see a viral tweet and jump on the hate band wagon to get the views / engagement.

After this whole debate about DLSS 5 I came to the conclusion that most of the people talking about it are completely unaware of what they don't know...they're on the peak of ignorance and don't even grasp how little they understand. They just heard generative AI and like Pavlov's dog they just start drooling thinking it's the same shit as unethical slop image generators...for the love of Christ...go and educate yourself before raging on the internet for no reason. DLLS 5 is not a prompt based generator...it's not creating stuff based on someone else's images and hallucinates results. It uses the information from the raster to build up a final render frame with the same information but with better lighting and shading... I'll even give you an example on how much of an impact better shading and lighting has. This is a character I've worked on not long ago. On the left you have a raster render, with some bad shaders. On the right you have a render with raytrace on, a much better shader for both hair and skin. They don't even look like the same person...do they? This is what DLSS5 is doing....getting a result like the one on the right(tbh a lot better) at a smaller cost than actually rendering it. Still the same geo, same textures, same light sources. Some of you will go and say the one on the left is better and it's the artist's vision. It's not...it's just the artist's limitation due to shading and lighting constrains. Every single artist out there would love to get the right result in real time.

If you don’t own an Apple Vision Pro why speak on it? 13 minutes of yapping on why he feels it is a failure. I think many people simply don’t see the long game. We’re so used to polished products that the actual “vision” is forgotten.

I agree that, in general, publications like The Verge and Wired have gone negative on tech. I used to subscribe to the magazine and listen to Wired’s UK podcast all the time. I’d read their articles on my very long train journeys to work every day. Wonderful mag. But now, when I see the mostly negative AI news they publish, it just breaks my heart. They have very little positive to say about the technology. Maybe it's their algorithms they use asaying this is what we like and what sells. 🤷‍♂️ Reading most news outlets directly is a painful experience now, anyway. They’re either behind a paywall or covered in ads and pop-ups. I dread going on news sites nowadays. If I could trust AI enough, I would rely on it solely to read the news for me. Not quite there yet, but it’s close. Where I do rely on AI, though, is to strip out the outlet’s bias and fallacies, fact-check, and cross-reference what I’ve read to get the real story - but that still requires multiple AIs. But then I worry: if more and more of us do this, what will happen to these news outlets? 🤔
Justin Ryan ᯅ@justinryanio

The Verge has lost its way. Several months ago, they interviewed me for 45 minutes about Apple Vision Pro. I spent 43 minutes talking about what I love, and 2 minutes on what I’d change. They twisted parts of those 2 minutes and cut everything positive I said. To make it worse, the author opened the interview by saying they were biased against headsets. I miss the old Verge. The one that was fun. The one that spotlighted tech instead of throwing shade.
