Have switched my Hermes over to Sol 5.6. Very impressed. Competition is amazing. What a time to be alive, watching these companies constantly battle it out and build incredible products.

@jordantwestecom @mbertulli I switched my entire workflow to Codex (vibe coding, design, etc) and don’t miss Claude at all. Codex 5.6 Sol is so solid.

@Seanfrank It’s usually a lot longer than that. The accumulation of knowledge, sometimes the reprogramming of limiting beliefs, and more are often part of the entrepreneurship journey long before those 5 years even start.

It feels like people are living at different spots in the timeline. Im interviewing a bunch of people for open roles at ridge. - 50% of people STILL havent used ai for more than a google search replacement. - 20% Some people are running their lives in it, but haven't downloaded a harness- browser only - A small group are fully loaded. Ai agents for everything. automating everything. And then you read the comments on instagram, and 20% of people want to burn down data centers like it's Frankenstein The future is here. Just depends on where you are on the timeline. I think within 2 years, using a browser on desktop will be optional and clunky. The harness is the new window to the world. Desktop computers with local software got replaced by the internet and the cloud. Now, webapps will just be database layers for agents. Why would I log into notion and click buttons? Agents will just do it. Why would I sort through my email and look for important stuff? Agents will do it. Why would I make a google doc and share it? Agents will do it. This might be a big DUH to everyone reading this. But Im telling you- to 95% of people this sounds like gibberish. They are at a different spot on the timeline. The level of change management coming to orgs will be as big as the internet was. The future is here; it's just not evenly distributed.

@RomanEcom @LinjerCo So you only invest in making the new designs that had a certain threshold signal of interest. Also makes your customers feel more a part of your brand if they have a part in product development. I believe anticipation is the lost powerful force in all of marketing.

@RomanEcom @LinjerCo They basically tell you what they want to buy next. You make them part of the new product pipeline. Keep them up to date as to the timetable of when a new design should be available then do an internal launch to play on scarcity and initial limited quantities.

Post mortem ±9 months later for @linjerco post gold price surge: - Revenue is up ±20% YoY. Q1 was flat due to OOS. - Q2 was up 40% - Order volume is down 10%. - All revenue growth is driven by price increases - CR is down 25% - EBIT % down ±20% but up in $ terms marginally Mid-term: - TAM is somewhat shrinking - Post purchase survey shows that people are downgrading from luxury to our brand (instead of Cartier, Linjer) Long-term: - We will need to open new non competitive geos - US is <40% of our sales now - We’re debating stainless steel - We will try to open a retail store, but might not do it next year after all just to stay focused on the above Interesting times. Not as devastating as I thought it would be but still very bad.

@RomanEcom @LinjerCo I meant something more like leather/velvet/high perceived value material (ECO?) with metals to start a new trend. Like a bracelet braid that’s half gold half material. Would drastically lower cost and still appear premium. Just a thought.

@Seanfrank @OutofSpecDetail Driving is so overrated. I find zero joy in it. Pushing a button and arriving at your destination is what nearly everyone will want once they have it and experience it. Anyone arguing this is out of touch.

Hot Take: most people don’t actually want FSD, all people really want is a great highway drive assist. We just did 1000 miles in our EV9 yesterday using Kia’s HDA 2 for 95% of the interstate driving. It’s so nice to be able to control the exact speed I want to go, follow in a distance I want to follow, and be in the lane I want to be in without an arbitrary profile telling me what it wants to do.

@MarkFerrara12 @Jason Open Source doesn’t mean no profits. Someone has to make and sell the hardware and there will be a massive opportunity to sell services, consulting and management around all of the innovation. Overall it will drive more productivity and economic gains.

How would they be able to A.) Fund the substantial capex while earning limited to no profit being open source and B.) deal with fact they're replacing labor, which is the main gov't tax revenue or societal calming function. There's a 0% chance Open source comes to robotics and self driving.

@MehtabKarta @jpecom_ A 6-figure capital startup moat is enough to fend off 99.9% of competitors. It’s the cloners that can start competing with $2K + Claude account and can scale up that are the real problem.

If you run a brand without a moat aka...a Zuckerberg Franchise, you should pull cash aggressively out and throw it in an index fund. Don't spend money assuming it will continue forever. It's too easy for someone to dupe your site/product/ads.

Don't start a creatine brand. We have subscription data on 500+ creatine brands on Recharge. The ones that launched before 2023 do 8.5x more in monthly revenue than the brands that entered in the last 12 months. I don't think that gap closes, and here's why. I saw the same pattern in greens: 3.4x. Functional nootropics: 3.2x. Every time a supplement category commoditizes, the early brands aren't just ahead, they're unreachable. Because by the time there's real competition for the category, their subscribers are already on auto-ship. The new entrant never gets a shot at those people. The subscriber signed up when there was one real option. The product worked, and it became a habit. When five new brands showed up with better packaging and lower prices, the friction to switch was already too high. Entry timing in subscription isn't always about being first to market. It's about building habit before a customer has a reason to comparison shop. L-theanine is having its creatine moment. PepsiCo entered with Pure Leaf Mental Focus. Neutonic hit a $60M valuation on 7.5M cans sold. The mainstream wave is forming. The brands that get in before that wave and actually build the retention layer, not the acquisition play, will win. They're the ones sitting at 8.5x in four years.

@pencil1658107 @pmarca No matter one’s situation it still comes down to MINDSET and how you manage the random thoughts that enter your mind. You can hate your job and still have a positive outlook that you’ll find another career path or another solution to eventually leave that job.

@pmarca This works if you are making decent money and you actually like what you are doing and not when you make median wage and also hate your job which is the case for most people. I am frankly surprised people still fall for these types of motivational videos.

@ocdrecovery @pmarca @DrCamRx Haaland’s message is more than that… he’s basically saying “you are not your mind” and things your mind tells you aren’t always true, like you’re too tired to keep going. So it’s not only about exercising, it’s about how you manage your thoughts.

@pmarca @DrCamRx Not as simplistic as that unfortunately. Without having it you won’t understand this. Exercise can really help but it’s not all there is to it, if that was the case depression would be easily treated by just opening more gyms.
