Looking back at the assets of my 2019 indie game.
There's NO WAY on this earth AI could make usable meshes for this.
Are we in a "each tool has its right place" situation or more of a "dogmatic NO, AI has no place in games"?

Some people might not like this, but I'll share it anyway: My 8 year old son over the past couple of months has become more and more interested in game development. It all started with Mario Maker: Friends at his school were playing it, so he wanted to as well and now for months on end he's been making levels and every day I have to test his designs. Over the last few weeks, he came up with his own concept for a game: A First Person "Shooter" where you play a blue pig. Your 'weapon' is a pokeball-like device that you need to throw in order to then swap positions with the ball - so a bit like Portal, but with the challenge being that you'd have to throw the ball and make sure it lands properly like in Worms / Scorched Earth, etc. - and once the ball landed on that higher up platform that you normally can't reach, you press a button to teleport yourself there. I actually quite like that idea, I think that could be fun! I didn't like when he spent time on the iPad watching videos, so recently I gave him my old laptop so he could learn how a computer actually works. I tried to set it up for him in a simple and straight-forward way and he's having much more fun with that now. And since he had his game idea, I also showed him how AI works. Since then, he's been doing nothing but drawing concepts for his game and ask ChatGPT to make his concepts come to life.

We’re on the verge of interactive, real-time, photorealistic video generation with what are called World Models. These require a fair amount of expensive compute, but costs will come down over time. Today, these interactions are essentially real-time dreams. They lack the persistence and shared logic that turns a video into a multiplayer game. Or concert. Or classroom. Or the holodeck. We believe the ultimate architecture for gaming (and the holodeck) is Roblox Reality. It’s a hybrid architecture that marries the structured data and logic of the Roblox Engine and Roblox Cloud with the generative power of Video World Models. The Roblox Engine provides the underlying synchronized ground truth—the score, physics, multiplayer sync, etc.—while our video model acts as a Super Upsampler to layer on photorealistic detail. We believe this will ultimately remove barriers to high-fidelity creation, allowing a team of three people to build a narrative-driven, photorealistic masterpiece in a single week. Many people do not seem to want data centres built near them, despite the fact that they don't cause that much traffic and often generate a lot of local tax revenue. I suspect it's partly because they're ugly! My proposal:

There is a hypothesis that Adam, had he not sinned, would have been charged with turning Earth, a wilderness, into a garden akin to Eden. It certainly comports with his post-fall commission "fill the earth and subdue it."
I think the fact that Mars and Venus are wildernesses that are harder to garden than Arizona or Antarctica by an order of magnitude or two -- but only by an order of magnitude or two,-- comports with this hypothesis, and with the Adamic charge.
Now, we are fallen, so who knows how well we can or will succeed. But it looks to me like our immediate cosmic neighborhood has steps up in difficulty like a well-designed videogame.

If you’re a hyperactive, high agency type of guy, the only path where you don’t go insane is entrepreneurship. It’s the only life that will stimulate you enough and put you in different situations and problems that actually make your brain function. The more you try to tame that energy the less you will feel alive. Some of us were made for complexity and ambiguity. The safe path is the most dangerous one. You know deep down you’re made for something different. Business is what gives you that. Avoid traditional jobs at all costs. Of course the price is high stress, uncertainty and lots of ups and downs… but let’s be honest, would you have it any other way? No. It’s too boring.

If you need 3d assets (like FBX) but you don't wanna break the rule that the game should be 90% AI
You can use Nano Banana Pro or 2 and then use an image to 3d model to turn it into an FBX for your game

My game-ready 3D workflow:
1) @higgsfield to generate key art
2) in Preview, remove background with Cmd + Shift + K
3) attach key art w/ prompt "Generate a 2x2 grid with front, back, left side, right side perspectives of this object"
3) upload perspectives to @tripoai multi-view
4) generate tex, pbr, rig, and go!

@Shyguymask99 Pixabay has a lot of good stuff, and chopping and layering audio in Audacity to make all news sounds is surprisingly easy and fun. Controversially, ElevenLabs has a SFX generator which I haven’t tried yet
