What's interesting about $GME is not that it's headed for bankruptcy, because it isn't. What's interesting is what @ryancohen did to keep it out of bankruptcy (and keeps doing) that crushed long-term shareholders. That would be massive dilution. Issuing so many shares allowed the company to survive the fact that there's no hope for its underlying biz (selling video games in malls). But it kept the lights on and $GME survived at the expense of shareholder value. That's the reason $GME stock is down more than 71% off its highs, why it has been flatlining since 2022, and performed worse than a bank account over the past year. Shares keep getting worth relatively less until Ryan Cohen figures out what to do with all that money (see his cash position) and maybe, just maybe grow a biz. Now why an investor would put up with years of this stuff underscores the cult nature surrounding the stock, which is truly bizarre. I saw one stock touter who said he believes in Ryan Cohan because his dad was a great guy. Literally said that's why he's in the stock. I made a point of it, and a bunch of dopes took offense I criticized the CEO's daddy. Sorry if that's why you hold $GME, you deserve to have your rear end diluted to dust

@michaeljburry Mann the grift is ugly. Name dropping stocks with large communities of retail investors, what a TAM for your paywall. You were right about the market 20 years ago, congrats. now get over yourself. Stop baiting retail investors to your paywall. Make your bets and let them playout.

And the current cause of some hullabaloo.
My take on $PLTR.
Please read yourselves before coming to any conclusions. I also post on the Notes section on Substack and anyone can see those.

@chamath Weed like all substances is a tool.
If we have 18 million people that need to cope with their lives and society via weed, we might want to look at the bigger picture.
Why do they feel the need to use it?

@VivekGaripalli Any thoughts on Avellan Space Technology & their direct to cell tech?

At this point, it would be ridiculous if Musk & SpaceX don't build and sell their own mobile device:
-- Domestic manufacturing: Tesla/SpaceX already make batteries, vehicles, and rockets mostly in the US. They could handle most (if not all) of the phone's production domestically - supply chain security, generally tariff-proof, made in USA
-- Massive leverage on components: Starlink's scale + xAI integration gives them huge buying power for memory (DRAM/NAND) and other parts for years to come. Costs stay low while other mobile manufacturers struggle on components procurement
-- OS ownership is mandatory: To optimize on-device inference costs (and have lowest latency), they'll need to run a "GrokOS/xOS" natively, they can't rely on Android/iOS (not that iOS would be an option)
-- Chip tailored for sat-to-cell: Custom silicon designed around Starlink Direct to Cell tech - ultra-low power for satellite links, seamless handover from towers to space. Will be able to materially underprice Verizon and AT&T
IMO, they should just acquire T-Mobile right now. Market cap hovering around $225B - pricey for sure, but it instantly solves dense urban/suburban coverage. Starlink handles the empty 90% of the planet; T-Mobile's spectrum/towers handle the cities. Can take a lot of market share very quickly. Acquisition will pay for itself in a few years.
Apple sits at ~69% US smartphone share. A compelling Starlink Phone would realistically grab 10%+ in the US fairly quickly - mostly peeling from Apple users tired of coverage gaps or ecosystem lock-in. That margin pressure will create a downward spiral for Apple: lost share leads to slower growth leads to talent exodus leads to innovation slowdown leads to more share loss.

@marcuslemonis if legacy shares are canceled, the company should also be cancelled. @marcuslemonis. How unfair to retail. Fleecing legacy shareholders will be death of this “new company” & it won’t be pretty

I am guilty of just reading the $GME headline. the investment policy outlines much more than just “GameStop can buy bitcoin.”
the investment policy was amended to allow investment in certain crypto currencies,—plural—including bitcoin. other crypto assets are not specified, but the language states that the Board has allowed the Investment Committee to invest in other crypto assets 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙮 𝙖𝙡𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚.
separately, the Company approved $BTC as a treasury reserve asset, which allows them to use their cash, future debt or equity raises and invest those proceeds into Bitcoin.
