Gave parallax occlusion mapping a go with Blender nodes. No arrays or subdivisions, just shading on 4 vertices. To my surprise, it was quite straightforward! I was even able to add some simple soft self-shadows. I recorded this demo in Cycles, but it works in Eevee too. #b3d
