I mean this is obviously a home run. Catches it over the wall past the fence and goes into the crowd. This is "football goes out the side of the end zone" type stuff where the weird rule is clear.

@comptonutah @BensHoops Lottery odds are added together and divided evenly. Then a coin flip determines order. So odds are same but if both are outside top four, winner of coin flip could be 5th and loser 6th for example

I don’t know if the Jazz would’ve tanked this year if they’d gotten Cooper Flagg. By making tanking less valuable the NBA incentivized the Jazz to do it longer.
The goal is to make bad teams better as quickly as possible not moralize over the reasons why they’re bad.

So true. If teams who don't have talent get talent then they'll stop being bottom dwellers sooner. Opening it up for more teams to qualify for the top pick potentially extends bottom dwelling behavior. It's terrible.

Drafting a guy who could want to be in Utah forever would be awesome and Boozer is definitely a better bet of that than DP. But, Austin Ainge showed last year he’s willing to draft whoever he thinks is best no matter what

@TheBMax The Jazz paid more for Jaren Jackson Jr (higher character) when they could have got Anthony Davis for much cheaper (bigger injury risk, bigger unhappy-in-Utah risk).
Same concept. Boozer seems like a much safer pick for Utah while arguably just as high of a ceiling as DP.

I don't see a scenario where Darryn Peterson gets drafted by the Utah Jazz.
Essentially, I think the Jazz would take Cam Boozer over DP, and maybe no other team in the lottery would do that, so no matter what the Jazz end up, I can't see a scenario where Jazz draft DP.
